swann's marina

Rented a pontoon boat from here. They have a nice little store where you can get ice and drinks before heading out. Some of the boats radios didn't work but the boats were in nice shape. We will probably go there again this summer.

We rented a pontoon boat for our family....it sounded like it was something that belonged to the Adams Family....our entire ride involved a loud running motor and smell of gas and fuel....was worried we would all get sick...was a terrible experience. then when we brought boat back in we got overcharged for fuel and gas....we normally pay about 13 dollars with other marinas...but with their ill efficient boat we were charged over 60 dollars...a huge waste....owners were so unfriendly....maybe because they felt bad they knew they were ripping us off

We rented one of the fisherman cabins, rustic but better than tent camping! We have a boat and we got to keep it in a slip because we rented a cabin. The staff and owners are very nice! We have enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Swanns Marina! Douglas Lake is beautiful.

At first when we arrived to pick up our boat rental we were told that the day before that the people were stuck for a couple hours because they could not find the "neutral start". We ended up being stuck on the boat later that day for hours before someone could get to us. We were instructed by someone we called at the marina to "beat on it" long story short we were finally able to get it started and were advised by the staff when we got back they are having problems keeping a lot of boats running. No discount was given and I will never go there again

Our boat broke down for 3 - 4 hours and when we returned I asked if It could be discounted and the young man at the counter called the owner and he said no. So, $107.00 when we got the crappy boat and $117 when we returned to refuel and put oil in it. THANKS A LOT.

We've been to Swann's twice this year. Once to rent a pontoon and stay in one of their cabins, and once to return with our own newly-purchased pontoon and place it in a slip there. One visit as all it took to let us know that this is where we wanted to put our boat. Ronnie, the manager, is great and exemplifies customer service. We had a bit of a glitch first thing when we put our boat in the water, and Ronnie was right there to help and advise and get our boat going. As for the cabin, no, not great at all. It was 'roughing it' for sure, but Ronnie readily admitted that and said they are working to fix them up and add new park models for higher level experiences. Its all a process, and with staff like they have I have no doubt they will soon have a fantastic place. With our boat now safely there we plan to be there many seasons to watch this place become THE place on Douglas to launch and slip your boat. We are happy we found this place.

Good or bad you decide? I had a 32’ pontoon boat there since 08’ (always paid my rent on time to the good folks, the previous owners) then in 2012 new owners came in. But my rent was paid to 10/22/12 and in 5/12 we drove 400 mile to my boat and found it was not in H-5 at marina as the slip on my rent receipt. I was told by some “lame brain” not employed by Swann’s.. that my boat came untied and ( it was all double roped) and he had salvaged it! And the truth was the new owners or “lame brain’ must have decided to move it and make room for a new house boat.. then after deciding it would not fit they moved the new houseboat to end of the marina.. my boat remained on slip unknown to me wherever they had moved it. In moving my boat they punched a hole in the side of my boat that matched to the inch of the pontoon boat they used to move mine.Then after Don the new service mgr. went to Bernice (Mgr.) and explained to her the damages and location of they both agreed to repair my boat. This was on 5/12...nothing yet???Then on 9/6/2012 @10:12 pm I called Swainns marina left message for (Mgr.) Bernice to call me..no call??Then on 9/21/2012 @9:35am, I called again and left another message to call me…(MUST not have time to return calls???)Then on 10/2/2012 @9:13am, I called again and ask whom I was speaking to and his name was Shannon.. I also ask why no return calls???? He said he would give her the message and still no call??So does new management mean NO MANAGEMENT??? If so turn it over to the “lame brain” that has control of new management……….You would think that all the new EMPTY boat slips would tell the owner something, now I have pulled my boat from Swann’s…you decide?!?“HIT”S going to be a great day!!!!!!!!
