Cherokee Adventure guides Mike and Shay (spelling?) are excellent-very professional, kind in assisting others, and helping everyone to have a safe and fun adventure. Lunch is excellent. My family have been with Cherokee Adventures 3-4 times and highly recommend them. The Nolichucky River is beautiful and lots of fun. I highly recommend the duckies if you are willing to paddle hard and long (9.7 miles plus.)

We rafted with CA at the end of August and had a great time. We considered other outfitters and were very glad we chose this one.Our guide, Loren Smith, was great and added a lot to a trip that would still have been a lot of fun with a mediocre guide. We saw a competing company on the Nolichuckee and watched as they just went through the motions to get their group down the river while Loren went out of his way to give us a better trip. The other company pulled out a mile before we did. The rafts hold six and everybody keeps busy and gets wet.We would be sure to schedule Loren again if we are in the area during the summer.

First experience with Cherokee & we would use them again. Guides were experienced, humorous & friendly. Run by locals who know & love the river.

The river was good but the guides were rude and told crude jokes. One of them lost his temper when a rafter, who was trying his best but was inexperienced, couldn't manouver his kayak correctly. The equipment was old and nasty. You're better off with another rafting company.

This is our second rafting adventure and this trip destroyed our first excursion!! The guides know the Nolichucky river like the back of their hand. The lunch with the full day Upper Nolichucky was excellent, and we will be making this trip again! The only downsides were an outdated waiting area and small seats on the "short bus". A fun time was had by all, and it is highly recommended!!

My boys and I spent two days with the crew at Cherokee Adventures. Saturday was spent with Mike Mac on a full day upper Nolichucky rafting trip, which was tons of fun. Good lunch, good stories, good weather, good water. Loved Mike's dead-pan, straight-faced storytelling. After a night "camping" in one of their bunkhouses, we spent Sunday with guide Cody piloting "Funyaks" down the lower portion. Cody took time to take us hiking up to a waterfall that we were able to jump down into a pool of water, and then helped find my son's glasses at the bottom of the pool when they came off. We surfed the rapids, flipped the raft and Funyaks, and all had a great time. A perfect end to a great end-of-summer weekend. Thanks guys!

Had a great time!!! Was amazed at the value and Quality of the lunch AWESOME!!! I've went with different guide's on other rivers and they are great but a little more pricey. but for the Nolichucky i'll go with Cherokee.

We paid way in advance for our UPPER Nolichuky trip. When July came around the river was almost at flood levels. It's normal at 300-3000cfs . When we went it was at 16,000 cfs! So needless to say the upper Nolichucky was a no-go. We were refunded (which we gave to our guide as a tip, because he was amazing!), and instructed we would only be allowed to give the lower part a go. I'm glad they chose such, because the flooded river was intimidating. The rapids were intense, and enough for our group! Lorin was an amazing guide! The river was a bit unpredictable because of the flooding, but Lorin did fabulous navigating the waters! We hit some big water at the last rapid at Big Rock too, and it was way encouraging to hear Lorin yell "Great job guys!" as we powered through! All and all the trip was safe, great, and adventurous! The guides were awesome. The rafts were in good shape. We came back alive. The only complaints is the extremely out dated vehicles, moldy helmets, and stinky PFDs (life vest) and paddle jackets - but the PFDs and helmets would have worked, they just stank and had mold.

The guides are absolutely awesome. They are knowledgeable and have great personalities. I had some much fun on the rapids. These guys are great. If you go, ask for Mike or Lauren. They are great guys and great guides. This is by every definition, A CHEROKEE ADVENTURE!!!

We had such an awesome white water experience! Luckily it had rained the day before to the rapids were great. We had a wonderful guide, Loren, who we owe our great day to! He is incredibly experienced and we felt very safe throughout our trip. I agree with the other reviewers that this is a great opportunity for both first timers (as we were) as well as those who have rafted before. Also, they give you a great little lunch during the trip (they had homemade peanut butter for us)! Well worth it!!

We had Mike Mack as our guide. he was great. He cracked us up the whole time with his witty humor and funny stories. He is very knowable of the river and made us feel very safe. The river is very exciting. Great for first timers and experienced rafters. Also, this company had the best prices. All I can say is we had a blast and really enjoyed this company. Will use again.

A group of 5 of us came up from Wilmington NC to celebrate our 30th birthday this weekend and settled on Cherokee Adventures. We decided to do the overnight package and stay in the private rustic cabins. We weren't expecting much but were satisfied when we were able to get a cabin near the water that had an amazing view. The first night was great and we all slept well in preparation of our trip the next day. Upon waking up we had breakfast in the dining area that was prepared fresh and was quite tasty. Our trip was incredible as we had an awesome guide named Ronnie who told funny stories and really tried to make the river a blast for us. Some of our group were veterans while a couple were relative newbies with one first timer. Ronnie really made the trip special for us though and if we come back again we will request him in a heartbeat. Lunch was awesome with bbq and other deli meats. When we arrived back at the base camp we were greeted by a hot steak dinner prepared by a lovely group of ladies and they went above and beyond the servers call of duty to make us feel welcome. The only complaint we had was that in the brochure they talk about a bbq house but when we got there we discovered that it had been closed down for a couple of years. Overall we had a very wonderful experience and would come back and use this company again!

Had an awesome day on the Nolichucky River thanks to the staff of Cherokee Adventures and our guide Mike Mac. Mike was very funny and knew every inch of the river. If you have a chance, I suggest requesting him as your guide. The water level this time of year provided for a very exciting trip down the river. One of my favorite moments was when we did some 360 spins on Rollercoaster. This was my second trip with Cherokee Adventures on the Nolichucky and it won't be my last. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Great time, reasonable price, nice people, beautiful scenery, and a fun and knowledgeable guide (Mike Mac). We did the economy trip today and everyone had a good time. Thanks and we'll be back.
