It is a great place to go with no smoking or drinking. The food is great and reasonable. On weekends there is a band . we love to go thereto dance and have a good time with friends and family!!!
Our family recently stopped in here during our trip to Nashville. It was nice to escape the tourist trap stuff and actually listen to music that is real and down home. Everyone there greeted us and treated us like family. If youre looking for a REAL Nashville experience, check this place out.
Larry invited us himself while we were once checking out the Millersville Bluegrass Jam. This is truly in a garage that has been enlarged in a neighborhood off Gallatin Rd in East Nashville, not far from Old Time Pottery. It is truly a bluegrass jam, people get up and play then people take turns singing. Everyone is welcome. Definitely an experience. They pass a hat to cover costs depending on the event. Conessions. Calendar on website. Highly recommend.
Very enjoyable night. Old timely feel. It really is a garage with cover outdoors for the audience. Comfortable PEW seats. Yummy BBQ and other food at the concession stand. Nice family atmosphere. Music was fabulous! Every 1st and 3 rd Sat is what they called band night. Several Blue Grass bands performed. There wasnt a cover charge for this event. A hat was passed to help "Pay the light bill" I used MapQuest to find this place, it's in a neighborhood tucked away at a dead end road.
Well, I am 44 and I loved this! There is no drinking and no smoking (smoking is allowed outside) and it is good clean family place. The owners came right up to us when we came in to introduce themselves and give us a brochure and make us feel welcome. Everyone eventually stopped by our pew to say hello. Children who are well behaved are welcome too and my 9 year old loved it. My one year old granddaughter was welcomed by everyone too, but we did take her outside walking quite a bit to keep her from disturbing the music. She finally fell asleep though and happily slept through the rest of the event. It is free but they do pass a jar around for donations (just to keep the lights on). I happily donated. I will definitely be going back. If you like blue grass style and old time music and some inspirational music, go check it out. One man I met wrote and sang a song called "The Part Time Undertaker" and I got a laugh out of it.
