Left a lot to be desired. Food didn't come on time, golf was way too expensive and staff was bland and not welcoming.
Westwoods is a public golf course. This year, they seem to have maintained it extremely well. I've played two rounds there this year, most recently this week. The tee boxes, the fairways, greens, the driving range, and the putting green have all been exceptionally well maintained. Given a very reasonable price of playing a round, I'm impressed.Furthermore, the food of the clubhouse is very good. Not only do I go there when I play golf, but we go there just for dinner sometimes. All in all a very well-run operation, and a place you should consider when you're looking for a reasonably priced public course to go play a round.
My family ate there and all were please with their food choices. We especially like the fresh guacamole made right at the table by the waiter.
Nice layout of 27 holes, so your round of 9 or 18 will vary. Some really pretty views, friendly staff and reasonable green fees. More hills than you might expect, makes it interesting and challenging.
West Woods is a beautiful golf course in Arvada. This golf course is in a great location, with beautiful views from most of the greens.
I understand this is a good golf course (I don't golf) BUT I do love to eat. Their restaurant is open to the public with great views and good food - primarily Mexican. Killer margaritas!! Wine choice is fair.
This course has three different 9 hole courses...all different. Our favorites are the Sleeping Indian and Cottonwood. We played this month and ended up on the Silo and Indian nines. Very dissappointed in the overall condition of the course. The course is usually in very great shape but the Silo 9 was not good.Pace of Play was also very slow. When the ranger finally came through and we mentioned it his response was that it was a Saturday which means it will be slow. I hate when this is the reason for a slow round. 5 hours and 15 minutes to play 18 holes on a regular day is not acceptable. The staff is usually very friendly and helpful. I am guessing since they were busy they didn't have to be nice.We also use to enjoy their food. For years the table side guacamole was the best and what we looked forward to it after every round. Not anymore. It just seems like this course has really gone down hill in a lot of areas. I will say they renovated the bathrooms and they look nice. I am thinking that money should have been spent on staff training.I don't like to write a negative review but in this case I can really only say something nice about the beverage cart team - they were nice and friendly and made it around several times to see us.I'll save my money and play somewhere else this year.
We've gone a couple of times for a Friday Fish Fry. Disappointed that this restaurant is only average. And over priced!
There are three different nine hole courses at West Woods. All have something going for them, but I prefer The Silo and then the Cottonwood. Water comes into play on several holes but the views are what make this course a pleasure to play. Not cheap but certainly a fair price given the quality of the course. My one major critique would be that there are holes that play right througfh the development and you have to worry about hitting someone's air conditioning unit.
I go here for four reasons: The course is generally pretty, the people at West Woods are always very nice, the price is reasonable, and the food at their club house is actually very, very good. If you eat there, you have to get the guacamole.
Arvada is low when it comes to a variety of restaurants. Westwoods provides a nice dinner atmosphere that has good food. They also have special menus for holidays such as Mardi Gras, Mother's Day etc. I've never ordered anything that wasn't tasty.
