My wife and I took a day off sking to go horse riding and riding a skidoo. The total price was $350 which was for an hour of each and lunch. The instructor that took us on the skidoo took us half way around a frozen lake and then back to the roadhouse. During this we stopped for 10 minutes for him to chat. In total the ride was 45minutes including the 10 minute stop. I did feel slightly cheated with this! The horse ride took the full hour and was down some groomed trails. It was very good and the Isaac the instructor was very professional. Lunch was burger and fries type grub which was fine. In all it was an interesting afternoon but I felt over priced for the timings.
Whatever your riding experience, from novice to experienced, you are in the hands of the capable Isaac and Nick - wranglers who know their trade and certainly their horses. The trail takes you down to Steamboat Lake, along the shore line, up hill, down dale and back along the valley. You can choose 1, 2 or 3-4 hours - take your pick. We were a party of 8, aged from 13 - 70 and everyone 'loved' their horse. What a way to spend time exploring this lovely corner of Colorado, with clean mountain air a breeze to keep you cool and a super Roadhouse for food and refreshment on your return.
My wife & I did their 2 hour snowmobile guided tour. Josh was our guide and did an excellent job. It was our first time to snowmobile so he kept us safe and taught us how to do it. We did about 45 minutes on the trail then 30 minutes of play in an open meadow. We then finished with another 45 minutes on the trail. The setting and scenery is amazing. The tour is in Lake Steamboat State Park. The location is about 45 minutes North of Steamboat Springs.
