Took a little work to find it (GPS and Google maps were confused by the strip mall turn-around), but well worth finding!Great selection of brews, hoppy if you like, but smooth lagers and porter as well. They were clearing out their Christmas Brew while we were there for $3 a pint (Christmas in July!), it was smooth spicy heaven (we all agreed, it tastes like Christmas). Had a ball there meeting locals, playing with pups, and a couple rounds of Cornhole (bags). All ages meet and greet here, we met locals half our age that felt like life-long friends (it's THAT kind of atmosphere). The built-in food truck is an amazing value, don't leave without getting the guacamole/salsa combo. The chicken and pulled pork are amazing as well. Of our two weeks in Vail, this was the only place we hit twice (plus a third quick stop for a growler refill). The art glass growlers are worthy of a mantelpiece or end table placement. Edwards is not as touristy as the other towns, don't let that stop you from a great time at Crazy Mountain.
hidden on the back side of a strip mall, but it has a nice open patio with picnic tables and games. Grabbed a growler of ginger hitchiker. Good drinkable beer, not overly spiced. Headed back to refill.
Hmmm…hard to judge which breweries are best…Vermont or Colorado…this brewery will make you think Colorado! We stopped in for a flight – all of the beers that we tasted were excellent. Loved that this was such a dog-friendly place! Unfortunately, the day we were there the food truck was not open so we had to lunch somewhere else.
My husband and I both got our own flights of beer. It was fun tasting all the brews with our food truck lunch. We had the fish tacos, lamb gyro, and chips w guac. All were really good and one of the best meals we had while visiting Vail, Beaver Creek, Avon, Edwards area. (And we ate at some fancy spots.)Some kids were there with their parents playing onsite games like corn hole.
I finished white water rafting with Lakota, and we got a free beer. Stopped over to get a Colorado beer. The place was very relaxing. Several different local craft beers. Very good beers, and the owners are wonderful, and customers were great. A great part is that it is great dog friendly. My son just loved having a few wonderful dogs to play around with. Definitely worth a stop to try a few local Colorado craft beers.
Drank all of their beers, bad azzz. Had a me a liquid lunch there one day we didn't have anything planned. Excellent tasting beer, nicely brewed.
Not all the easy to find but look hard it's worth it. Great selection of interesting beers. Plus the good truck outside has some of the great fries I've had in a long time!!A must for craft beer lovers!! Especially liked the Lava Lake Wit and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades.
We were driving through on our way to Denver. We already enjoy their beers from time to time when we see them at liquor stores or beer festivals, but this time we stopped at the actual brewery. We were hungry and it was right around dinner time, so we were sad to see that the food truck out front wasn't open. But I thoroughly enjoyed the beer and seeing how it was an extremely dog-friendly atmosphere. There had to be about 7 to 10 dogs outside. One was so friendly, it just came and sat by my husband and I. Good times
This place is a great place to have a few beers and just relax. We had an awesome time and not to mention the beer was DELICIOUS! We even a moose join us while we were outside.
Had a Groupon for two full flights of beers. Tasted 8 different beers, all were good or very good. Nice laid back place that was welcoming and comfy for a few beers with friends. Prices are reasonable. Well worth the stop if you are in the area.
My husband and I stopped by during our Colorado vacation. The beer was great and we loved the atmosphere.
We tried this place based on suggestions from locals and a coupon book. Opened in 2010 but has grown by leaps and bounds. Te owners were actually in the sitting area having a meeting. They do their entire process including canning, out of a lower level strip mall/basement/warehouse. All the employees were super friendly. They poured us a beer and took us on a private tour. The tour is short but neat to see all the different phases of growth and add ons. We also had a flight sampling which was a lot of fun! Bought a growler for $13 and a glass. Nonetheless, still fun to support local start ups. They had a good truck outside. We didn't try it but it smelled and looked good. Tip: get a vail valley coupon book and use the coupons! Or use the Trippons app for free stuff!
We love the new food truck! It completes the experience.I have been dragging my uncooperative wife to Crazy Mountain’s tasting room ever since it opened a few years ago, and I’ve always enjoyed the rustic (i.e., basic) atmosphere because I so thoroughly enjoy Crazy Mountain’s craft brews. However, there was no food service, so there was nothing really to do but to drink beer and converse with your friends -- which is really not such a bad thing, is it?However, the new food truck creates a much broader appeal. Now, my wife almost asks me if we can go by Crazy Mountain because she likes the food truck so well. It really is good, as we ate at the food truck five times during our recent stay in Vail. The food truck’s chef, Dave, is a former sous chef at Vista, and it shows in the quality of his entrees, all of which are reasonably priced. The Cuban sandwich is truly the best I’ve ever had, and my wife particularly enjoyed the veggie quesadillas. We also had the short rib tacos and shrimp tacos, and, both of them were exceptionally well prepared. Try the hop fries -- French fries with a sprinkling of hops used in the brewing process. One thing I like about Crazy Mountain’s array of craft beers is that the alcohol content doesn’t seem to be quite as high as some other microbreweries. I tend toward the Black Lager, but the recently-released seasonal Peach IPA should not be missed while available. You may not know that Crazy Mountain recently was the beer sponsor for Beaver Creek’s Oktoberfest, and while I understand there are no plans to make it otherwise available, the Oktoberfest served at the event was top-rated.I promise that you won’t go wrong with Crazy Mountain’s new food truck.
Great selection of local brews. Sit a the picnic tables of this brewery and enjoy a cold one. There is a food truck there, as well, but we were their for the liquids : ) Not visible as you take Edwards exit but worth the effort.
We went here last week at the suggestion of a local white water rafting company. They have excellent beer and the picnic tables outside are a nice touch as well as the swinging chairlift inside. My husband is a beer hound and was so impressed that he bought a growler of their beer to bring home with us. There is no food here and not many places within walking distance to consider. We took our kids during the afternoon and there were a few other families here but I'm sure it's a different atmosphere in the evening. Very nice and very unique!
