Our first trip to the Gothic was to see Gaelic Storm, an awesome Irish band we had seen several times at the Birchmere in VA. The Gothic is right on Broadway and easy to get to. As others have mentioned, there is a very small parking lot right next to the theater (about 20 cars?) which fills up fast but there is parking on the street in the area. In addition, there is a shopping center just a block south on Broadway with a large parking lot so we just used that. This is a pretty small venue so no matter where you are you are not real far from the stage. Not sure how many people it actually holds but I did see a sign in the balcony area indicating a capacity of 161. As other reviewers mentioned the first floor basically is an open space where people can stand, dance, get close to the stage or whatever. We used the balcony area which has space along each side of the theater and then 4 levels in the back with a bar in the very back of the balcony. Essentially each level in the balcony has a wrought iron railing about 4' high with a 6" wide wooden shelf attached at seat level where you can place a drink. All of the seats are just bar stools that have a swivel seat and can be moved around. We did not want to stand so we arrived around 6:45 pm (doors open at 6:30) and we got seats but if we arrived much later we would not have. Even though we were in the next to last tier in the back of the balcony we could see the performers on stage with no problem, which is why the tiers work well. That was also just a few feet from the bar which was convenient. There is a ladies room at the very back of the balcony right beside the bar and a mens room down a level on the opposite side of the theater - not sure what others are downstairs. While it would be nice if you could get something to eat inside, even just snacks, and the stools get a little tiring for old folks after a couple hours, this a great venue for concerts and pretty intimate. There was a good selection of beers and hard drinks and the bartenders were very friendly and efficient. Prices were what you would expect, around $6.50 for a CO microbrew, etc. I would definitely recommend the Gothic and will go back.

Converted old theater featuring national touring acts and hot locals that can draw 500 or so. Funky, loud (but very good audio system), and a decent value. Always a good time at the Gothic!

Very nice venue for a smaller concert. The acoustics are great, and we had great seats on the balcony. The bar was a little pricey, but the drinks were great. We had a very fun time here!

The Gothic Theatre is a fabulous venue for small concerts. This is the first time I went to a concert is a refurbished movie theatre. The concert—James Blunt—was intimate with James being only about 75 feet, at the most, away from our seats. Many of these venues—including the Gothic—offer few seats. Ninety-percent of attendees stand. They didn't mind, but I preferred sitting. Interestingly, I frequented the Gothic as a teenager and saw more than my share of movies there! It was exciting to be back there after 45 years. Built in the 1920's, owners retained and repaired the elegant architecture on the inside of the theatre when they converted the theatre. My one complaint is that with such a small area where the bar is at the back rather than in the old concession area, the patrons at times were just too loud. That said, I would go back again, and maybe be in the standing area. I could have been in the third row from the stage with James Blunt less than 6 feet away!

This was a great venue! I can't believe I hadn't been here before. Somewhat like the Bluebird. We were there to see Greensky Bluegrass, a band I had previously never heard of. I had read some reviews about getting there early to get the available seats. Most of the venue is standing room only. We got in line early. Probably within the first 5 in. Seats we got were great. Bar was close. Drinks were priced fair compared to some other Denver venues. Would absolutely go back.

Love going to a show where I can easily see from anywhere without having to fight my way to the front. This is truly the case with the Gothic! Not to mention it was easy to grab a drink from the bar. Never had to wait more then a minute or two. Bravo on staffing! Will absolutely be back to see more shows here!

Good venue for concerts. Has a great location The sound and lights are pretty good for a venue that size.

It is a good place to see a show but it is a little old and needs more seating.

I went to the Gothic Theatre in Englewood, CO to see Shawn Colvin over the weekend. The theater is old but quaint. I stood outside for an hour in the cold to get a good seat. As I gave my ticket to the usher, I asked where the best place to sit would be. I was told to sit as close as possible downstairs. It was a great seat until people started filling in the forward section and standing up. People were very inconsiderate and would stand a foot in front of me and my friend. We couldn't see much at all. The concert was great though. The music made up for the inconvenience of inconsiderate people. But if I ever go the the Gothic again, I will sit in the balcony.
