georgetown firefighting museum

Not very much to see but our guide was amazing and super nice! I wish there was more to see in the museum but what's there is great to see!

When you first enter you don't really see the best part of the Museum. They have a video that you can watch and there is a hook and ladder as well as hose wagon there. The best part is what is upstairs and will cost you a minimal fee for what you will see and the history behind why so many of the buildings in town are still in use. So much worth the cost.

Dear Frank G,I'm sorry you were not able to visit the Georgetown Firefighting Museum on one of your five trips into Georgetown. The Firefighting Museum is a new addition to Georgetown's museum program. It was opened to the public for the very first time on July 4, 2013. The museum is operated seasonly during the summer months, and its hours are consistent with those of the Hamill House Museum. Currently, the museum is opened on weekends from Memorial Day through the Fourth of July holiday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.; after that time, the museum is opened daily from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. through Labor Day. I sure hope you plan to visit Georgetown again, and I hope you will give us another try during the regularly scheduled hours mentioned above. Furthermore, you can always call the Historic Georgetown office at 303-569-2840 to request a private tour at the regular fee during the off-season & we are always happy to accommodate with a week's notice!
