On a wintry Saturday, my friend and I decided to try the Deluxe Treatment at the Izba Spa in Parker. The Izba Spa incorporates the traditional Russian Banya (Steam Bath) with therapeutic massage and modern methods of holistic therapies to encourage health, facilitate rehabilitation and reduce stress. I had never heard of a Banya treatment before and was eager to give it a try. I would definitely do it again. The treatment included a soak in a salt water hot tub, followed by a massage and then the steam in the Banya. We experienced a couple of different scented steams before the main event - the "beating" with the oak leaves. That was followed by a honey drizzle (I didn't realize it was a natural antiseptic). Then rinse and repeat. After the second round (and a cold water shock treatment), I finished with a body mask and my friend had a body scrub. It was completely different then any spa treatment I had ever had, and for a 2.5 hour treatment, the price was more than reasonable. I can't wait for my next visit!
