This is a beautiful park with many different plants. Great place for picnics with lunch time concerts and outdoor theatre.

No entrance fee for this serene, beautiful, intimate, and conveniently located park off the core trail that follows along the Yampa River. This Botanic Park has water fountains, public restrooms, running water features, a pond with lotus lilies, sculptures, morning Yoga on the green offered a few times a week during the summer for a donation and so much more....too much to mention....so best just check out for yourself. No bicycles or dogs allowed in park tho. Enjoy!!!

Kept beautiful by many volunteers. Fauna at such hights is fascinating and dramatic. The winding pathway draws you to every unique display. Perfect for all ages and capabilities. A short walking distance to stream and town and adjacent to the bike path. You might not drive toSteamboat just to see this but while there it should not be missed!

A bike ride led us to the Botanical garden. Blooms and butterflies were abundant, with secret winding paths to explore. Perfect for a quick stroll, or one when more time is available. Enjoyed the signs which taught the names of the plants. Lovely place to sit and chat if time allows.

Park your bike at the Botanical gardens bike rack right on the steamboat springs 4 mile bike path along the river. well designed layout of gardens with views, ponds and unique plants. Free, bathrooms, picnic tables. One of our favorite spots in Steamboat in summer, spring and fall.

If you are in Steamboat Springs this is worth an hour or two of your time. There is a diverse display of plants and shrubs which will excite any gardener. You can also exit to the river and take an extended stroll beyond the park. See more pics here; waynelr.smugmug.com/Travel/Colorado/Steamboat-2014/

A nice place to visit, and doesn't take very much time. Beautiful and peaceful. I bit challenging to find, but if you go to the Visitors Center, they'll give you directions.

Probably not the best time as not many flower out and heaps of leaves on the ground. However nice to see a variety of garden beds and peaceful ponds

The Yampa River Botanic Park is a gem just off the core trail. It is an oasis of flowers and vegetation that is lush and growing as they are continually adding new sections to it. It is a very pleasant attraction so add it to your list!

This hidden treasure was nearby our Legacy Vacation Resorts-Hilltop location. Very nice level walking tour of many native Colorado plants, shrubs and trees in a restful setting. Don't miss it!

This beautiful garden is well maintained, lots of different flowers and trees. Easy to walk around and enjoy the privacy. They also have special music events in the summer as well as classes for yoga and meditation. No bikes are allowed inside. But you have bike stations at both entrances. Very wide paths paved in crushed rock.

For several summers we rode bicycle along the Yampa Core Trail and we never bothered to stop in to the botanical park. From the outside it appears smallish, and honestly I thought, oh, that's nice someone planted some flowers in a park. NOw we know we were missing out! This park looks like it is small until you enter the gates from the core trail and it opens up in to a expansive botanical garden with benches, shade trees, winding paths, ponds, small streams and a wide-open grassy area for kids to play or couples to picnic. Now you know, too. : )

A pond, trees and flowers arranged along winding paths. Labels and more labels identifying the trees and flowers. Benches populate the area to provide resting spots. And the best restrooms I have ever experienced in an outdoor site.P.S. Compost area

Our early morning, late summer visit to the Yampa River Botanic Park was very peaceful and quiet. Since the rain had just ended, there were few people at this hour. The park's design displays native flowers, shrubs and trees in settings found in the Colorado mountains. The park is ideal for strolling along the paths or sitting on a bench and contemplating this natural setting which is only a short distance from downtown Steamboat Springs. It’s certainly a nice place to relax. Children can enjoy exploring the pond and winding paths.

Beautiful and serene botanic park in Steamboat Springs, CO. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and took many photos. It's thoughtfully laid out with various low levels, water features, sculptures, and various types of gardens. Many things were tagged with name/species. We went in late afternoon. A tree-lined path along the gorgeous soccer field with mountains in the background takes you to the entrance. There is another entrance off a paved bike path along one side of the park as well. Many lovely flowers, some native, as Colorado boasts wildflowers at every elevation. Benches throughout and little alcoves good for a little quiet time. Free. It's like an oasis in the middle of everything else, just outside of downtown a short ways.
