My family came to do some shopping on a Friday afternoon. The mall wasn't crowded...it never seems to be busy. Got a parking spot right by one of the doors to Macys. Bought several items at Macys, Foot Locker, Zumiez and Laux plus lunch from Subway in just over 90 minutes. Not as many stores as The Galleria, but never as busy.
Having accompanied my wife here during annual Christmas shopping, I was appalled at the attendance. Most places during the season are more attended. What happened here? Maybe it's the declining populace of the area itself. That could be one explanation. I feel the outrageous sales tax rate in the county is the major factor. We rarely venture to Erie County because of it. Plus, they will not forego their portion of the tax on clothes. This probably scares people away as it does us. Poor, inept government at its finest, if you ask me. Sooner than they think, their inemptness will drive everyone elsewhere. Then they will get what they deserve.
Even though it's nothing out of the ordinary, I like this mall. It has all the usual stores and I usually find what I'm looking for. The food court is not extensive and we don't eat ther very often anymore but there are plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area. There is also a lot of parking spaces. Our favorite spot at McKinley is Tabby Town. We love to see the cats and kittens there and have even adopted one.
Nothing out of the ordinary however great location for stores and a lot of restaurants in the area . Bon Ton Jc penney and Sears were the anchors as well as Macy's
yeah, like many, this mall has lost its luster, but you can't beat the moviehouse in the rear, actually accessible from the parking lot, with two-dollar-at-all-times prices for fairly recent releases... nice staff, too... parking easy ... concessions, though, in line with the high prices of first-run cinema, and we had a bad experience with the popcorn... roll 'em!
What I consider to be quite large, this mall is not frequently used and that's too bad as I has the same stores and services as the newer Galleria Mall.
Before we went to walden we found a savers store near the mall and it was good then we to the mall and we just went to hot topic and macys both stores were good except for the mall. The mall is crap there's nothing good in there waste of time really. Walden is better than this mall. Crappiest mall ever don't go there at all
This was the only mall my husband would visit in Buffalo. It had nice leather seats in the middle of the mall and on Saturdays the retired steel workers would get together and sit and wait for their wives to shop. My husband would sit with them and it gave me time to myself. We went in on the weekend and they had taken the seats away. The stores must be having a rough time because JC Penny had nothing in the way of mature mens' clothing along with Sears. My husband always shopped successfully at this mall. The woman's shoes in the department stores looked as if they had been taken out of mothballs and at least five years old. Sbarro's fast food is gone (my husband's favourite) and the whole place looked deserted. We have been coming here for many years. Oh well, I guess nothing stays the same. No need to go down there any more.....
