I went to Hoffman's with my daughter son-in-law and twin grand-daughters to say solong to a place where I had taken my children.

A piece of local history for many generations. Its too bad it couldnt stay open. Hopefully someone will resurrect this place.

This was the best place around for both rides, and fun ! We have been coming in here for many years. The last four years with my Granddaughter ! It provides something for everyone ! The Birthday Parties are very special, everyone loves coming. The food also for fast food is very good, something for everyone. It is set to close this year, we are hoping a miracle will let it remain in the Capital District! Family fun and more!

I visited with my husband and grand children (6 & 11 years) and can't believe I didn't find this treasure when my own daughters were young - this actually makes me very sad that they missed out.It is a fantastic family venue! No admission fee. Clean. Friendly staff. Reasonable food prices. No parking fee. Actually affordable for young families!! For the price of what it would have cost one person to get into another area fun park (plus parking and HIGH food prices!), our family enjoyed 4 hours of fun! I wish I had the finances and know how to purchase this fun and kind attraction and keep it just like it is! and share with many families to come! What a gift this place has been for over 60 years! It makes me tremendously sad to see that it is closing and I so hope that someone will step in and keep it reasonable and fun for generations in the future!

Great place for young children. Rides are age appropriate!! My husband and I recently took our grandson there and he had a blast. There are few amusement areas in the area that cater to very young children.

It is heartbreaking to see this treasured childhood destination close down after all these years. I can remember hearing the train whistle from my house and getting so excited that it was almost summer again. I had hoped that someone would rescue this, but a las it will be no more. Thanks for all the memories, Hoffman's.

Throughout my life I have been going to Hoffman's Playland. As a little kid I would go with my parents and siblings. As young adults I led my 20 something friends on trip down memory lane for all of us who had been going to Hoffman's as kids long before we knew one another. Up until just a few weeks ago when we brought our children for the last of many trips to Hoffman's as it will be closing at the end of the month. I can't tell you how hard it is to say goodbye to this iconic local attraction that was so much a part of this family community. Young or old, of means or of little you could enjoy this place like anyone else. thank you to the Hoffman Family for all the memories.

We were looking for things to do and heard this place was going out of business. Although we have no children, we wanted to go see it anyway. Everything is very old, brought back memories of childhood. Some very old games and rides. It's sad to see that it's leaving because it's a great place to take small children.

We brought our 4 & 9 year old's and enjoyed every minute. Prices were good, fun retro rides with good snacks! Took me back to good times when I was a child and to share that with my children and family was a wonderful experience you can't put a price tag on. Young staff was a little unhelpful and lacked good service when dealing with family's but overall it was a great time. I heard there closing for good soon, glad we were able to go before they closed. We will miss Hoffmans!

I hadn't been to Hoffman's in many years. Now that I have a 2 year old, I wanted to bring her over experience it before it falls victim to urban development. She wasn't too keen on the rides, still a little skittish, but it was nice to take the train ride a couple of times. If you've never been there or at least been there with your kids, try to get there before they close. A true Latham landmark that will gone forever, never to be replaced...

This is a truly unique treasure. The rides are reminiscent of a magical time when kids were innocent and life was sweet. The best part is you can just buy as many tickets as you want. If you have a half hour, you can ride a few rides, or you can spend a few hours there. The arcade is fun, although some of them have seen better days. Skee ball is $.25 a bargain. The ice cream is yummy and reasonably priced. There are never lines to get on the rides and there are rides for very small children up to 10ish. It's closing in September 2014. So if you have never been now is the time. Don't miss it!!

For several years, I have read about this little family-owned park near Albany, NY. I had planned to visit one day, and when I read this would be their final year, I finally got there. The park is geared more for families with younger children, but there are some adult rides to make the older children and parents happy. The employees were very friendly; the grounds were clean; the rides seemed to be in excellent condition; and the prices for admission and food were reasonable. They have a kiddie coaster that has been altered from the typical kiddie coaster design found at so many parks. The swooping first drop and the curve at the end add a unique twist to the typical coaster built just for children. The good news is that adults (especially us roller coaster enthusiasts) can ride the coaster without having to have a child with them.If you have not been to Hoffman's Playland in a long time or ever, please make an effort to get there before they shut their doors forever. You will be glad you did. (The urban growth all around the park needs to space to grow.)

Had a great time with my family at Hoffman's Playland. It might close for good after this season! So many memories there.... Go before the end of the Summer!

Hoffman's has been a staple for as long as I can remember. Going there as a child was such a treat. We mostly went with cousins and then we all became of age ourselves and had children and then we took our own children along with their cousins. So many memories will be gone forever. Glad I got a chance to see it one last time last week before the September closing to make way for more stores and condos. Nothing last forever..........

I took my kids for the last time to Hoffman's, they plan to close forever in Sept 2014. So sad. It is a little pricey for a book of tickets, but it was worth it for them to have fun on the rides one last time.. It's a lot of fun for little kids because the rides are not scary. They have 5 rides that are for big kids for 2 tickets and the rest are for the little kids, just one ticket. And they have a great train ride. You will have a fun filled day if you go and they have good concession stands. Make sure you get out there before you can't ever again!
