My boyfriend and I had a great time here. We ended up being waited on by the owner and his wife. We work in the wine industry so it was great swapping stories. It's a fun place that is also very nice. We Liked that we could see the barrels while tasting. Definitely recommend and would want to return on future visits.

We rented the winery for a wedding. The ceremony and reception were both held in the barn which is in very good condition- rustic, large and surprisingly bright due to the large doors. The floor has been replaced so it's very suitable for dancing. It easily accommodated the 85 people we had invited. This space is not heated therefore it is not suitable for any winter events. You can't beat the surrounding landscape for photography. The vineyards are right at your feet. You may book their farmhouse which is perfect for the wedding party to prepare in and the bride and groom to stay at the night of the wedding. The house has had many upgrades and our guests said the beds were very comfortable. The winery itself is beautifully maintained and their wines quite tasty. Our troubles came with communicating with the winery staff. We planned a plated dinner with tables set with fine china. The barn was not cleaned in the time frame we were given and the winery staff seemed indifferent to the need for proper time to set up. Because it is rustic, there is a fair amount of dust that infiltrates through the doors so tables need to be set the morning of the event. That's when they planned to clean so it became quite chaotic. The barn is not set up with mechanicals that are needed for a catering a plated meal on china with reasonable ease. There are a few electrical outlets at the rear and one hose bib. That's it. No sinks for rinsing dishes or cooking utensils. You must provide restrooms unless you want your guests to walk a fair distance across a field to the winery which is fine but once it's dark, there is no lighting so that's challenging. We rented restrooms. There is no lighting behind the barn where the outlets are so if you have plugged in anything like a coffee urn, you need flashlights. In our case, we didn't foresee that and ran car headlights. Once your DJ is hooked up, you run the risk of blowing circuit breakers if you plug anything else in. We would have been better off to bring commercial thermal servers and make the coffee in advance. I would recommend screened tents for the caterer to provide shade and protection from flies and bees as you are serving at a working farm which is one of the barn's best assets. It's real, not a new place made to look old. Just be prepared to accommodate for all it's limitations. The staff we worked with did not provide us with enough information to make better decisions and we didn't ask enough questions. We discovered these things as we went along. When all was said and done, our guests liked the venue and were largely unaware of it's challenges. However, this added greatly to the cost of holding an event of the caliber we chose. Kudos to our caterer, Carriage Trade, for overcoming all of that to make our event as special as it could be. My rating is based on the difficulties we experienced in executing our service to our guests and the communication we had with the winery. The venue itself is lovely. We would just plan a little less formal event were we to do it again or we would choose a different venue more capable of supporting a finer dining experience.

Attended a wedding ceremony and reception at Freedom Run. The tasting room was very "tastefully decorated" . The wine was delicious. The barn was decorated, looked adorable for both the ceremony, meal and dancing. The cocktail hour was in the tasting room, so guests were asked to walk from the parking area to the barn, to the tasting room and back to the barn. This got tricky once it got dark, not to mention the bathrooms were only at the tasting room. ( no porta-potty provided) Flat shoes are a must through the grass, in the dark. The barn also got very cold. Heaters would have been appreciated. Food was catered through The Brickyard, which is another review. The servers did not seem to want to be there and ran out of some of the food. All in all, very nice venue for a wedding with a few more simple fixes.

We attended a wedding reception located at Freedom Run, and we had such a nice time. It's located about 25min from where we were staying in Lewiston, NY. It's located on a large plot of land surrounded by residential homes off a pretty busy 2-lane road. We had the unique opportunity to visit the entire winery during the reception- including where the wine is stored. The food was delicious- my favorite were the spanakopita. The Riesling was my favorite wine. Definitely a must-visit for wine and snacks if you're ever in the area!
