However pit is always good. They also have a great environment! We go 2-3times a month! It is a bit pricey, but we do not mind because it is consistant
This was a sad experience like the last. Last experience: Bartender was inexperienced and extremely rude. This experience: An old time friend came to visit from FL as I'm now 6 months pregnant. We decided to shoot some pool at the Penobscot Pour House, listen to some music from the jukebox, and sip a glass of red wine. When we arrived just before 9pm on a Friday night we expected it to be busy. We paid our cover and immediately went to the back where the pool tables were. No one was using the jukebox, so my friend put her money in and picked out about half an hour, plus worth of music ($10). Although the pool tables are directly next the jukebox we couldn't hear it. I went up and asked if it could be turned up, both the bartender and co-owner said no problem but that the live band will be on stage in less than 5 minutes and the jukebox will be off for the remainder of the evening. There was no sign on the jukebox stating there was to be a live band playing that night and all money would essentially be wasted. She turned it up "as loud as it would go." We couldn't hear it. We brushed it off and put our money in to play pool. The rack was missing. We asked the co-owner where the racks were as we checked two other open tables for racks and they were also missing. She told us to borrow from someone else. Fine. We borrow a rack, begin racking the balls, and one is missing. Co-owner comes to release the missing ball from the table. We shoot our game while the live music kicks in. The live music is awful. We decide to shoot another game and my friend buys another glass of wine. Again, a ball is stuck. The co-owner comes over to release the ball. We were very pleasant despite our frustration at both our wasted money, and having to play the waiting game. Not a single apology from this lady, not so much as eye contact! I play pool in a league and travel about to different locations, when this happens usually a game on the house is offered, or at the very least an apology. I also work in customer service-- Penobscot Pour House doesn't have a lick of sense when it comes to satisfying their customers. The last time I will visit this establishment.
