This is a really nice concert venue, but our seats were horrible. Looking at them online, we could not tell that we were seated so that our view of half the stage was blocked. Disappointing as I was so excited to be taking my daughter to her first concert. I would have picked a different seating area if I had known.
our experience at a concert here was this-poor crowd control, a lot of very drunk people, we could smell pot, lots of swearing, couldn't hear the music, uncomfortable seats. i wonder how they can keep serving alcohol until people are obviously falling over drunk and then watch them leave to drive home afterwards and feel okay about it.....you can't tell me not one drunk person drove afterwards.we left early.we recently went to an indoor concert in another city and this made me realize how poor this venue was. our recent concert was much, much larger and a rock band, yet had none of the things listed above that we experienced at the waterfront.also, you can listen to the music free by sitting on the waterfront trail. we saw this as we left. just a few people along the trail listening. the sound was just as good as it was at our seats and no drunk people. i would do that next time if there was a band i wanted to listen to.
Nice outdoor venue...nice concerts, great bands now...makes down town Bangor the place to be. ..parking is an issue there though
We saw Steely Dan here recently. Great show and good acoustics. Be warned this is an outdoor venue so bring seat cushions to be more comfortable. there are a number of vendors on site. The volunteers who work the venue are all very helpful. Enjoy your time here!
The Pavilion has a great venue of performing artists. It is too bad that there are times when the crowd is not controlled and kept in their paid seating. After we paid for front row seats and the concert commenced. The crowd slowly advanced to get a closer look at times leaning on us and pushing us, spilling food and drinks on us and taking other peoples seats that they had not paid for only to make everyone get out of the way when they had to exit the seats when the true owners came to reclaim. I do not mind standing after I have paid for my seats as this is just a part of the excitement: however I do mind getting pushed out of my space after I have paid for it! Over crowded at the front with security not ample to control the crowd. Why would I pay extra for expensive seats with good views, when I can pay less and take someone else's or push someone out of the way?
My wife was looking for a place to take some pictures and this location didn't disappoint. We were lucky because it was a warm, sunny evening, so the walk along the waterfront was a great break. Parking was free, and close to the area, and the boardwalk was well maintained. For those so inclined, there are a number of restaurants/pubs with outside patios so you can enjoy the view and the weather.
Went to see Steely Dan on Aug. 28. The venue was perfect from start to finish. The band was fantastic! No long lines to enter or for drinks. The sound was amazing. With out a doubt worth the 7 hr drive!
This venue is not bad but i've personally seen better. The lines for beer were long, it took FOREVER in the line for the toilet. The sound was just ok. Concert date : 30 August!
I just attended Jason Aldean Concert Aug 31, 2014 with friends. I can only compare to other outdoor concerts that I have been to (Parlee Beach in Shediac, NB and Cavendish Beach in PEI). I found they had no control of the crowds. Having seats where you were all on top of each other was crazy! They should have first come first serve as everyone stands at concerts like this anyways. If you wanted a cigarette you had to go up against the fence to smoke, however, they tried to clear you away from the fence. They really need a designated smoking area for the front, middle and lawn. There were not enough beer tents for the amount of people there. You also need a yellow bracelet before they would give you any liquor and this was fine, but for first timers you didn't know anything about these and it wasn't clearly marked and didn't have signage to tell anyone this. We waited in line for 30 minutes for a beer and overheard as we approached the front of line that we required a bracelet. Also you couldn't see anything unless you were at the very front by the stage or at the very back in the lawn. The screens they had were way too low and too small..........I know this isn't really isn't the venue's fault. Would have been better staying home listening to the songs on itunes.
We saw Arcade Fire at the Waterfront Pavilion and it was great. Good sound, great light show, and helpful staff. The ground up by the stage is covered with gravel so it wasn't muddy or dusty up front. I wouldn't want to see a show in the rain here though. There is no cover from the whims of nature so bring an umbrella if it looks like rain.
We try to catch a couple concerts per summer here- great venue! And AMAZING acts come here! Best to date was STING last year!
Brilliant .. first concert at this venue...very organized. Only thing lacking was more beer vendors :)
My husband and I attended a Sarah McLachlan concert on July 18, 2014. Sarah was awesome, as were the sound and visual effects. The problem was that attendees were smoking and talking right next to our seats. It was really unpleasant and the whole issue could have been avoided if the workers at the venue had enforced the rules.
Came here for the very first time to see a concert and I fell in love with this place! The venue was great, the beer prices were a little steep, but that is to be expected by any event venue like this. The disappointing part was how the audience all sat down, it felt like if you were to stand up, people would tell you to sit.i am definitely coming back for another concert!
Wow a great venue, well managed, outdoor concerts are a blast , will be going again these season, great hotel next to the venue, seating was like I was on the stage.
