While you can't tour the light house the view surrounding is spectacular! Being Mid-westerners we were amazed by the beautiful rocky beach. Just a beautiful place! Not a bad drive from Portland ME. The Lobster Shack and a gift shop are both worth a visit too.
well care for great scenes . The only dislike had to do with the weather it was cold with a strong wind
A must see on the tour of lighthouses in Maine. Definitely do not miss this beautiful house while on the coast of Maine.
Ate lobster at the Lobster Shack at Cape Elizabeth Light. Nice ocean views and a fun little gift shop and miniature lighthouse about 8 feet tall for photos. The actual lighthouse is on private party and a little hard to see but worth the short drive from Portland Maine
This is a must see! I can't say enough on the beauty of Cape Elizabeth, it is definitely a Maine Gem!
Lighthouse lovers will have to see the twin lights, but as they are off-limits and sort of distant as far as seeing any detail, don't allot much time, unless you want to eat at the Lobster Shack which sits by them.
This lighthouse is amazing as are the 12 or so lighthouses that we have found along the coast of Maine. The day we visited was a sunny beautiful day and we were just in awe.
Two ighthouses, one that is right on the ocean front and another one inland that you can see, Ocean, rocks to climb on, not a bad place to stop. Not as nice as Portland Head, so if you have to pick between the two, I would Pick Portland Head. If you are going by anyways it is worth the stop though. We liked it.
What a beautiful area. The view of the Atlantic is spectacular. Great photo taking spot. The lighthouse is old but very picturesque. We were so enthralled with the view we did not even walk up to it. The view is definitely the highlight.
Great views, although I'm still not sure which lighthouse was Cape Elizabeth light & which was Portland Head light. didn't dislike anything about it.
A lot of the pictures listed here are either of the wrong lighthouse or clearly taken with a zoom lens because you cannot get close to this light house. Several photos are of the Nubble Lighthouse in Cape Neddick and several of the Portland Head Light, which is in Cape Elizabeth, but it's not the "Cape Elizabeth Light". The actual Cape Elizabeth light is part of Two Lights. t's the once closest to the coast. But you can at least get some great clam cakes at the Lobster Shack!
Totally beautiful area that offers everything one could ask in a Maine lighthouse. My wife loved it - it was her first trip there.
Beautiful and there's a small path off the side where you can actually descend to walk among the rocks (I don't believe you're allowed, do so with great caution) and it makes for beautiful photography, a nice workout and some great memories.
You can't get too close to this one but you can still enjoy it's beauty. Cliffs to the right are nice to climb orjust sit and enjoy the fresh sea air while taking in the view. Small restaurant for lunch if you are hungry. Parking can be a challenge.
It's FREE, and incredibly beautiful at Fort Williams Park. Even if you don't care about lighthouse, the grounds are beautiful. Sometimes, the beach roses extend blooming through October. There are some other new planting on the walk along the rocky coast, plenty of fairly clean outhouses & a couple of food trucks for the hungry. We visit here often & at different times of the year just because it's so beautiful! A great place to picnic, too!
