Enjoyed looking around here, vintage items presented very well in a clean and organized manor. A must stop if you enjoy all things antique and vintage!
My wife is obsessed with this shop, but I have to admit that I enjoy stopping by there almost as much as she does. It’s enjoyable to see what Michael (who is a really neat guy and lots of fun to talk to) has come up with each time we visit – he’s very creative and has a real flair for colors and designs. I really like the vintage photos and maps, too. Since he carries both furniture and smaller decorative and gift items, and all at great prices, it’s always easy to find an affordable new treasure.
I love this little shop! Don't let all the gorgeous furniture in the front yard make you think that this place is unaffordable. The beautiful cottage style is well within any budget. Great furniture, transformed with a fresh coat of paint, something for every room in your house. Thinking of something more modest? There are pillows, vintage linens, lampshades, art work, tide clocks, just to mention a few. I am always surprised with the things that Michael comes up with. I recommend this as a must go destination when you are in Old Orchard Beach.
I absolutely adore this charming boutique housed in a former church building. When you walk in the door, you are hit by its instant “Wow” factor. The space is bright and cheerful, the perfect “retro” style music is playing softly in the background, and beautiful flowers add to the visual appeal. Cottage Décor sells vintage, cottage-style furniture (both large and smaller pieces), the majority of which has been refurbished and/or repainted by the talented shop owner, Michael. Michael has the gift of locating hidden gems and diamonds-in-the-rough at flea markets and antique shops and giving them new life. His eye for color and design is amazing. If you’re not in the market for furniture (I wasn’t either, until I found several pieces I couldn’t resist), no problem – the shop has a vast selection of smaller decorative accent pieces and gift items. I love the small lamps with shades created from nautical-themed fabrics. There are creative pieces made from sea glass and driftwood. Colorful glass bottles and stone vases. Lovely candles and soaps. Pottery and pillows. Whimsical wall plaques. Cool clocks. And the icing on the cake? The prices are extremely reasonable. So when you need a break from some of the more chaotic activities Old Orchard Beach offers, pop down the road just a short distance from the main drag (hang a left at the top of the “strip”) to the understated class and elegance of Cottage Décor. It has free parking in its own lot, too. I guarantee that strolling through this fun, beautiful shop with its welcoming, friendly proprietor will give your spirits a lift and put a smile on your face. I must warn you, though – with its frequent turnover and new pieces appearing every week, it can get addictive!(Note: The shop is not open daily; I recommend checking its Facebook page for its seasonal hours; the Facebook page has some great examples of its treasures, too).
