We happened upon this distillery after checking out the barrel cooperage just down the way. A mere 1.5 miles away, what a delight! Steve was our tour guide-knowledgeable, personable, quick witted, and fun he remembered details about each guest and wove them in where pertinent as we toured. Owner/Distiller Steve Beam came in at the end of our tour and signed our purchases. Great fun, easy tour! This is a craft distillery, so especially easy for older folks to do. There are no steps and it's a small amount of walking. By law you can only have y samples, but as with many other places if you go with a friend you can share! Samples are free and delicious! If you have ever had a Moon Pie you will be surprised at how close they come! The Madagascar Vanilla + Orange Crush = a delicious "Orange Cream Sicle". Bought the jalapeno to try in my Bloody Mary and Bloody Caesars for company! Definitely worth the trip out.

Had never heard of Limestone Branch until I was looking at the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour website and participants. We were already in the area visiting Bourbon Trail distilleries so we stopped by.Finding it was a little challenging. It's on the 55 bypass (Veterans Parkway) northeast of the Hampton Inn. If you come north from downtown Lebanon, turn right when you reach the intersection. Go past the Hampton and it's about 1/2 mile beyond on the left. We called for directions and Steven graciously talked us in.When we arrived he came out to greet us, introducing himself and shaking our hands, giving us a warm reception.Inside he told us the family history (Dank/Beam) behind the owners/operators and showed us some interesting artifacts and photos. "The Beams aren't born, they're distilled." Well said!We headed into the "lab" where all the magic happens. He told us about their products, explained how they are made, and then it was out for a taste.They make Moonpie Moonshine (vanilla, chocolate and banana) and they are good on their own or mixed with cola, orange soda, or root beer. They also make Sugar Shine in multiple flavors: plain, blackberry, strawberry, cherry, apple-cinnamon, pumpkin pie and jalapeño pepper.You can taste (by KY law) only four, so choose carefully! If you're with someone you can share 8. Go with a friend! You'll be amazed at the flavors and tastes. I was.I wasn't planning to buy anything, but walked out with three Sugar Shines: blackberry (awesome as a cordial or mixed with seltzer), Apple-Cinnamon (fantastic on a cold winter's night like this one), and Jalapeño. The jalapeño is good on its own, lighting a slow-burning fire at the back of your throat but not burning down the house (or burning your throat on the way down), mixed into a Bloody Mary, or added to your pot of chili. I can,t wait to try it during my upcoming party.There's a nice selection of items in the gift shop. You can also buy soft drinks and MoonPie ice cream bars (vanilla only, very good).Wheelchair accessible and nice bathrooms on site.I was impressed with the hospitality and attention we were shown during our visit. Sample the offerings and enjoy a visit with relatives of the Beams.. Enjoyable "shine". Always offering new flavor so. Jalepano shine makes great Bloody Mary. Great choices and friendly staff.

Forget the big name distilleries, Limestone Branch was a true treasure to visit. I must admit, I visited the facility with cousins of the owners/founders. However, I came with an unknown expectation besides a quality product. I did receive a personalized tour as a family friend, but felt that I wasn't being treated with any special love that a tourist wouldn't have received otherwise.After tasting four different products on the Limestone "line," I fell in love with "jalapeno" moonshine. With bourbon currently aging and more on the way, consider sampling a few moonshines to hold you over. Give this distillery five years. Look out Makers.

Small batch facility. Tour was personal and even got to meet Steve Beam! Nice young ladies showed us around. Must do!

Hey now, if you were captivated by Moonshiners.....we got that. If you LOVED Moon Pies as a kid...we got that....if you remember Gramps taking out a bottle of Yellowstone for a toast at Christmas....we got that. Just announced, a partnership between Yellowstone and Limestone Branch Distillery (they're cousins, doncha know) Steve and Paul Beam have crafted a fine little spot in Marion County Kentucky to enjoy their personal brand of 'shine' (hint, try jalapeno in a Bloody Mary) they have the only Moon Pie Moonshine on the planet...working directly with the Moon Pie owners to create all three flavors and now a partnership with Yellowstone makes for a tri-fecta that cannot be beat. Plan a detour from your Bourbon Trail and see the best kept secret in craft distilleries, take home some 'product' to share.

Great little tour, entertaining, and tasty moonshine. This is one place you don't want to miss while on the Bourbon Trail. It's unpretentious, to the point, and just a joy to attend. Don't miss the tasting at the end - Moon Pie Moonshine! You'll love it!

In Kentucky there is a Bourbon Trail made up of most of the big names. There is also a Craft Trail made up of a number of distillers that have started recently and are in the process of making their mark and in one case reestablishing their name. Limestone Branch is one of the up and coming distillers but is founded by a member of the Beam family. This stop was made to get my Craft Trail Passport stamped but what I found was a delightful operation and some interesting spirits including a moonshine that tastes like a liquid Moonpie. Well worth the time to look them up and check them out.

Stopped in Limestone Brach Distillery while on the Bourbon Trail. We were intrigued by the Moon Pie Moonshine on their sign. The owners of Moon Pie approached the distillery to partner with them in making Moon Pie Moonshine. What a novel idea! I actually loved the various flavors of moonshine we sampled. We didn't have time to take the tour, but the gentleman working the tasting table was very knowledgeable and cordial. A must stop on the Bourbon Trail.

We stopped off while on the bourbon tour of Kentucky. Stephen was our tour guide and exudes a ton of passion for the business that the Beam brothers' new venture needs. The product tastes excellent and is definitely a must to try and better to buy. This is a lot more intimate than an overproduced distillery tour with large groups with small nagging children. We look forward to visiting again.

We took the tour on a Monday morning. Although we got there early, they were happy to let us inside to wait. This is a small, all-in-one-building distillery. They do not have bourbon ready, as they have only been open a couple of years. The nice thing is that you can see the entire operation and meet the whole staff on the tour. We really enjoyed the tasting. My wife usually does not like hard stuff but enjoyed the Moon Pie Vanilla Moonshine and the Pumpkin Sugar Shine. The variety of flavors is a nice break from the bourbon everywhere else.I had never had commercial moonshine before, but we walked out with a bottle. For a free tour, it is definitely worth a visit.

Not your typical Moonshine in that it is 80 proof, dilute by Moonshine standards. The flavors, however, are very good!!

Steve Beam is one of the nicest people. Took time out for pictures and autographs. The tour was great, answered any questions. Excellent tasting. The staff went out of their way to help us find some place that still had Climax Moonshine in Tennessee. Thanks again, and highly recommend adding this to your Bourbon Trail.

We added Limestone Branch to our Bourbon tasting trail. We thought there would be more bourbon and were surprised to find it was mostly fruit moonshines. However it is a great small craft distillery. We were the only people on the tour which was nice. The tour starts with a history of the owner's family which is rich in bourbon history. The tour is quick since all of the production and bottling is in one large room. After the tour you can taste the moonshines and the bourbon in a small tasting area. The moon pie moonshines were delicious - tasted just like the vanilla, banana, and chocolate moon pies. The shop has shirts, hats, souvenirs, etc. and the moonshines/bourbon. We saw the moon pies in a local liquor store for less money, but the bourbon and fruit moonshines weren't offered anywhere else. Definitely worth a visit!!
