east kentucky science center and planetarium

An absolute asset to the Appalachian region! I had the pleasure of visiting the Eastern Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium with a summer program that I am apart of through Berea College. While at the center we had the pleasure of watching very innovative and fun 30-minute light show. Prior to the host provided us with very insightful and helpful commentary regarding the technology and the center itself. Great place to stop for all ages!

The museum part is nothing fancy, just a few interactive displays covering some hand-picked topics from a variety of disciplines, such as biology, astronomy, and physics. The planetarium is worth checking out. The laser show is fun, if a bit long, and the operator is pleasant and informative. I would consider going back again to see another one of their shows. The Science Center is a generally nice experience, but unless you’re attending one of the planetarium shows, you probably won’t spend more than twenty minutes here.

As a part of a summer program, my team and I had a wonderful opportunity of visiting the East Kentucky Science Center. We watched a wonderful 30 minutes laser show and the night sky in the Planetarium. My favorite part was looking at the stars and learning about different constellations. Ideal place for learning about stars, technology, and the universe.

This was fabulous and my kids loved it! The show was quite informative! The kids were getting an education and didn't even know it!

We stopped here and found lots of interesting facts and saw some meteors, and a piece of moon rock. Nice Planetarium show as well.
