The signs in the gift shop said 50% off on summer apparel. Grabbed a hat, and was told, not the hats, just clothes. OK. Had to rent clubs, and paid what we thought was a very high rate for rental. Hardly a soul on the course. The attendant could not talk fast enough to get us out of the room so he could continue watching TV, which he continued to do as we finished our transaction. Where do they get these people. This was not unique to the golf course. We encountered borderline rudeness at many outlets at Big Sky.
The course seemed very disjointed. On 2 of the holes there were pedestrians walking right down the middle of the fairway! The "cart gal" finally showed up on the 16 hole for the first time all day. There are no markers whatsoever at any holes, which we found very odd for distance, etc. We were disappointed in the Big Sky Golf Course. Just seems like it would be so much more for being in Big Sky.
This is a nice and challenging course, it's better than it looks at first glance. The outside service could be better but for a course only open for 3-4 months, they do a good job. Beverage cart gal was the nicest and most helpful.
The 17th hole is the picture hole. The balance of the course is flat and average for a public course. It's a shame they didn't do more with it since the mountain views are beautiful. I've never been on a course where you can drive the carts up to the greens.... I will say that the course was in very good condition. If you want to get out in the fresh mountain air and play golf, it's a decent place. Just don't bring in high expectations since I'm sure this wasn't designed by anyone of acclaim.
I golfed big sky in june with some friends that were also golf enthusiasts. We paid a premium to play (well over $125) and expected a course in great shape as per all the reviews. The views were spectacular. But the greens? Wow! The front nine were in horrendous shape due to winter kill. Balls bouncing all over the place. The back nine were a bit better. If you are a serious golfer, play somewhere else. If you come for the scenery, you will have fun!
This is a nice course. Green fees were $75 which is reasonable for the setting. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
The wife and I played 18 holes as part of the Big Adventure Lodging package at Big Sky Resort.Golf course was in good condition. Rented some excellent Nike clubs from the clubhouse. Lacey, the beverage cart girl was great. Also, a shout out to Jake at the cart garage.
The staff I met were young, polite and professional. The was challenging but fair, it was windy. The mountain views were delightful.
Beautiful golf course in a beautiful setting in the shadow of 11,116 ft high lone mountain, great area!
This was a beautiful golf course with Mount Currie as a sensational back drop. The course is well named as it had a fantastic feeling of space being undeveloped land, mountains and a 'big sky'.The holes are well set out and, although many of the approaches to the greens require accuracy and nerve, the drives are normally into big beautifully manicured fairways edged by bunkers that are not too daunting. The course was in great condition, and the people all very friendly and keen to ensure we had a great experience. The slightly unsophisticated nature of the place meant that there was no GPS on the carts. No problem, but there were no course planners either. A surprising failing given that the 18 holes were very adequately described on the Big Sky website, but this is no good when you are out on the course. We will play this course again, it is probably the best golf course we have played in Canada!
There's great beauty here and the course was in good shape. Everyone we ran into here was friendly. I rented a home nearby and played twice in glorious weather.
The first three holes and the last three holes are the prettiest. The course is very forgiving for the occasional golfer. I would definitely play this course again. The greens and fairways were in excellent shape.
The course is in great shape with beautiful scenery surrounding you. We rented junior left handed clubs for my son, which surprisingly, the pro shop had!! The staff was very helpful and friendly.
From just about every hole you can see the snow capped Lone Peak. The course is in really good shape, a couple of greens have some ruff spots but the fairways were in great shape. 4 tee box options give you enough choice to make this course as challenging as you would like it to be. I have enjoyed all the rounds I have played here so far and look forward to many more.
Golfing in the valley of these mountains aw amazing. This is a challenging golf course but even as I am very rookie to this I had a great time! Fairways are in great shape and the rough are very difficult. A great A. Palmer course!
