My guide was Bob and he was great! The view from the top was gorgeous and with the leaves changing and falling, it was the perfect time to enjoy a relaxing and gentle ride up the beautiful terrain. I will definitely be back and plan to bring my daughter next time.

250kgilmore nailed it. These horses are poorly maintained and management feels secure that the release the riders sign will protect them from negligence lawsuits. Some horses were in decent condition as far as their weight, but more were below "average." It is NOT average or normal for a horse's backbone, hip bones and ribs to show. Every single horse needed work done on their feet. These kind creatures were given "hay" that was more suited for bedding than feed. We were rushed to mount up, no mounting blocks, no instructions were given, no information about the horses. (My husband and I opted to wear helmets...we were the only ones. All I can say is that my helmet has saved my life on at least two occasions.) The trip up the side of the mountain is very steep. There should have been more frequent stops to let the horses catch their breaths...and that necessity should have been conveyed to the riders. The chunky woman on the horse behind me kept urging her horse to keep going. He knew when he needed to stop.Again, on the trip down the steep mountainside, no instruction was given. And we were rushed to dismount. Although the scenery is spectacular, I cannot in good conscience recommend this stable. This is the nightmare place that gentle horses do not deserve.

There's camping available, along with picnic tables and beautiful scenery. The ride to the top is fun and escorted, suitable for children as well.

We paid $70.00 for the 2 of us for about a 2hr ride. The horses were gentle and our guide Taylor was very nice. We would definitely do it again.

I have been to many riding stables and this one did not impressme at all. The horses were in poor condition, bodies and feet. I saw plenty of hay bales sitting around the barn but only very old mostly gone bales in the field where the horses were. There were several first time riders on our ride that got no instruction on quiding, stopping or satring their horses. I am a horse owner and I already know this. The incline to the top is pretty steep and once on top you must ride back down. There again, with no instruction from the owner or the guide. In fact the assistant guide didn't stay behind the riders on the way down to make sure there were no problems. To me, this was very unprofessional. I feel that the owner need to put some of his profit back into the animals that are making the money for him.

A great way to enjoy the mountains & see the amazing view from the over look platform at the top of Seneca Rocks! The owner was so nice & helpful from making the reservations to going on the trail ride! This was my 6 year old daughter's first big trail ride on a horse! The owner made sure she had on a helmet that fit her properly,he was on his own horse but lead her horse & but she still had the reins! He asked me where I wanted to be & I was able to be behind her watching her as she went up the trail with our great group of riders, trail guide & owner! Her reaction was priceless & she did great on the trail ride! The owner asked her a couple of times if she was doing ok & she said yes and just smiled! That meant a lot to me that he was checking on her even though I could see her! The trail ride is about 1 1/2 hours round trip with breaks for the horses & final stop at the top of Seneca Rocks to view the mountains! When you get to the top they help you get off your horse, give you plenty of time to look around & help you back on your horse before going back down the mountain! The stables are on a farm & it was neat my daughter got to see cows & their calfs that were being rounded up for the evening! And a beautiful stable with beautiful horses! My daughters horse was Dakota & mine was Blazer! This was my second time riding with Yokum's & I highly recommend riding to the top with them! It's family friendly & a family owned business with great prices! This was my also my mom & dad's first time riding with Yokum's Stables & they enjoyed it too!! The horses did good on the trail ride but it can be a little rocky in places! Nice things to see on the way up include a little creek, the walking trail up to Seneca Rocks & even some wildlife! Things to bring for the trail ride are a camera, water, sunscreen, snacks & put them in a backpack! Wear comfortable clothing & boots/shoes! My family had a great trail ride & I can't wait to ride with Yokum's & their family again!

Bub & Angela were great. They took wonderful care of us. The horses knew what to do and it made for avery relaxingride. Can't wait to go back.

Normal trail riding facility, horses seemed well cared for. Great views at the top. Recommend doing this if you are unable to hike to the top.

Our horses were good and gentle, but not so the trail. Wet summer made for muddy conditions, and trail was also pretty rocky. If you have little riding experience, like us, just be aware that the ride is a little challenging, especially coming down. My sister was unable to complete the trip and had to dismount halfway down and be brought back to stable by guide on a 4-wheeler. However, the view from the observation deck at the top is just amazing, and well worth it if you are a confident rider.

$35 per person may seem a little steep compared to other attractions in the Seneca Rocks area, but this trail ride was actually a great value for the time and enjoyment it offered. We are experienced horse owners and usually a little hesitant to rent stable mounts, but ours were comfortable, well behaved, and listened to commands they were given. The ride itself was leisurely and well-paced along the ridge leading up to the rocks, and we were allowed more than sufficient time at the crest to dismount and take in the view from the top. Our guides were conversant and it was evident the animals were well cared for and not overstressed. Overall a great way to journey up the mountain.

We took the guided tour from Yokum's to the top of Seneca Rocks on horseback and we had a GREAT time. I would suggest coming to Yokum's to enjoy a safe and relax horseback ride. We were very happy with the service. Thanks!
