Nice enough trail that has a long boardwalk that crosses the Coosa to an island and a gravel section that connects to the Gadsden Mall. Good parking on both ends. Good place for bird viewing.
My daughter and I walked the trail and enjoyed the beautiful views and the ducks. It was peaceful and serene!
Short trail that encircles a pond like area. The trail begins behind the Gadsden mall and starts as a packed gravel trail that leads to a long boardwalk for the crossing over water. At the end of the boardwalk the trail becomes a dirt foot path in a wooded island like area. The walk out and back is about 3 miles total. It is a good walking trail but too short for biking.
It is easy to track how far you have walked/run, etc. You can easy do a 1/2 mile, full miles, two miles and three miles. You can also take your dog with you. Path is fairly level.
It was a pleasure to see the quite still waters, and hear the crickets and the birds. You have 1 hour on your hands and some walking shoes then that's your place...
This trail was close to our campground and I rode there by bike and explored the paths. I loved the boardwalks over the water and saw much of the wildlife mentioned in previous reviews. I am currently injured and can't run, but am looking forward to returning when I can. I was alone and felt very safe. There were several other women using the trails alone as well.
This is a quiet peaceful place to relax and gather your thoughts. You can walk the trails or just sit and look at the water. When you get hungry, the mall is right there. Wonderful!!
We visited for the second time in 3 years, and this time we hit the jackpot! Not only did we see lots of herons, egrets, cormorants, and songbirds, but also a Bald Eagle! Lots of neat boardwalks over the water, as well as benches and even picnic pavilions. Ran out of energy before we ran out of trail.
This is a nice little walking trail behind the mall in Gadston. A short walk and you will be able to escape into the wildlife.
Don't go here expecting to be entertained by anything of then nature. But you will be very much entertained by the birds, wildflowers and gentle breezes. We enjoy this area in spring and late fall or early on a summer morning.
Martin Wildlife park is located right behind the Gadsden Al Mall. You can park in the mall parking lot to begin your walk. The trail goes to South 11th street. You can also park here and begin your walk.
Great place for hikes with the family and kids. Very relaxing and near the water for fishing also. Enjoyed the day here.
excellent place to hike,,you can see all kinds of water fowl,,turtles laying on logs out in the water, and hurons..wooden bridges to walk on..its about a 3 mile hike.
We were watching the weather and this was close to town to enjoy. The boardwalks were great - what a great hidden treasure. The welcome bureau told us about it.
Beautiful Scenery. Several paths. Great for walking and running.
