We took our grandson here for a picnic and a little walk around the trail. Then we took him to see the building with the stuffed animals and he loved it. Very educational and interactive. Very underrated park, we loved it and will return☺

This is a lovely park on Mobile Bay along the Causeway (near Five Rivers). There's a small pier here for fishing, as well as a boat launch. These are nice but there doesn't seem to be much more to this park. (Note that there is camping here as well, which I have not used.)

Park management turned off the water during a hard freeze by informing us with a sign at the front gate. The sign stated water would be turned off at 3:00 PM but the "bath house" would have water - but the showers didn't have hot water. This park is beautiful but management needs to understand the word "customer service". For a weekly price of $175 this park is priced more like a resort without the amenities.

i don;t know if the state or the park ranger determine the rules for this park but somebody needs to think things out. this park is not a destination park but a pass through park . there are many people here that work in the area and stay here for the long term. you can drive through the park and there will be 10 to 12 empty spots ( at a min.)every night. we are now going to be required (starting nov. 1st ,2014 ) to move from one spot to another every two weeks and pay a weekly rate ,that will be $100.00 a month higher than the current monthly rate. in addition , as other post said, the ants are terrible (no provisions are made by the park to control them) and the grass around the rv's are never cut. with that said, the two employes,(susan and richard) are super.

Small state park with camping sites, boat launch and fishing pier. Security gates for you added safety. No swimming though as alligators are prominent. Reasonable fees but, we encountered a lot of sugar ants.

We pulled into this campground around 7pm. There were signs that were posted saying "spray for ants." Being from Ohio, we didn't understand I just thought some bug spray on us would be okay. Boy was I wrong. There are "sugar ants" EVERYWHERE. They cover EVERYTHING. Luckily, a nice man came over and asked us if we'd sprayed and he enlightened us to the fact that if we didn't spray a pesticide over our entire site and around all our stuff we would be overrun. He kindly let us use some of his (apparently people in this area travel with insecticide handy). Despite spraying, our tent floor was completely covered by morning. other than that the place was great. Had the annoying push buttons for the showers, but facilities were clean.

My husband and I stayed at Meaher State Park in our travel trailer during the week of Mardi Gras. We had a most enjoyable and relaxing experience. We were able to set up near the pier/boardwalk and watch the geese interact in this peaceful habitat. The laundry facility and showers were very well maintained and clean. The park was quiet and extremely clean. The park attendants were most pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The drive into Mobile for Mardi Gras festivities was less than 10 minutes. We ate at many wonderful close-by restaurants (The Oyster House and Felix's) to name a few. We will definitely be back next year.

The park has a great view of the bay with incredible sunsets. It is a peaceful and relaxing place to visit. Plenty of birds and gators for wildlife viewing. The 5 Rivers Center across the causeway is a must see while visiting. The bathhouse was clean. The shower was so hot it burned my skin. I told the attendant and she said other guest were complaining so she would just turn off the hot water. I suggested that the temperature needed adjusting and the hot water should not be turned off. There was no offer to properly correct the problem. The next day there was no hot water. The shower valves are on/off with no temperature adjustment. So you must deal with the setting done by park staff. Melting hot or ice cold. This could be a 5 star park with just a little help. I would still recommend this park and I will stay here again.

The boardwalk is nice to walk and see the bay. It gives a close up opportunity to see some wildlife in their natural habitat in Mobile Bay

Two times a year my wife and I pack a picnic lunch and ride my motorcycle over from West Mobile. They have tables, restrooms and nice spots by the water to watch the sunset.

We enjoyed our week at this park watching the beautiful sunsets over the bay, watching cars on the causeway bridge, etc. Be sure and eat the fish dinner at the Fish market on the Bay in Daphne. The RV sites are nice and large and big enough for large RVs. The park hasn't been prepped for the summer since it was still quite cool during our stay - it needs mowed, serious trimming, and spraying sites for ants. They warn you about the ants and they are serious. Found them everywhere so spray all around your site and your vehicle. There is a fishing pier and a birding trail pier in the park, a boat launch, and even a tenting area.We would recommend the campground and plan to return when we are in the area.
