This is an amazing place. The Old theatre was restored a few years ago. Nice clean area. Several bars and places to eat within walking distance. Good place to see concert or show

Beautiful theater!! The interior is very nice and the kids really enjoyed it. We normally try to come once every Christmas. It really does bring back a lot of childhood memories. The one downside to going is that finding parking is really hard! I will be returning next year!

We visit the Alabama Theatre every year at Christmas for their Christmas film series. It is a beautiful venue and is nothing short of pure nostalgia. The sing alongs with the amazing Wurlitzer organ are always fun. Christmas Vacation is a must see!

I just love the Alabama Theatre..Yes, she is an "old lady," but she is still very much a lady none-the-less. She brings back memories of my childhood: Dance recitals( MC'd by Cousin Cliff), Gone With The Wind, The Sound of Music, Christmas Concerts...I was there not long ago for the premiere of "The Red Barn" (a documentary from Sutton Productions about a very special place for special needs children, veterans, and others where the horses - and the staff - provide comfort, therapy, and unconditional acceptance). In spite of the the somewhat worn carpet, the Alabama Theatre still has that quality of elegant charm that is missing in so many venues today. If you have a chance, go there. It is worth the trip.

Beautiful historic theater! So pretty on the inside and no seat is a bad seat as far as being able to see the stage! Just be aware that the seats are little so if you are more on the plus size you may have a problem. Not a lot of parking but we stayed overnight in a hotel down the street so it wasn't an issue for us.

You may miss the performance because you will be so distracted by the beauty of the theater!A little piece of history with great performances!

Love the Alabama - visit often to view old movies, and will be attending a concert in November. so glad that this theatre was saved from the wrecking ball!

At first, I had thoughts about why the Dalai Lama was speaking in the Alabama theater. From the outside, it didn't look like much and the area was questionable. Clearly, when I walked in I was so wrong for my judgements. This place is tasteful, elegant, and charming and the staff are lovely. The use of colors and the architecture inside the theater is mesmorizing. It truly is a fantastic place. I just wish they had the speaker or sound system issue worked out for his holiness. It was a struggle for people to hear him and it seemed like noone was assisting him with it. Anyways, great place and now a holy place as it has been blessed with his presence;)

Incredible venue for watching an old film, seeing a concert or play. Have loved this theater for years and seen concert after concert, and film after film. During their film series tickets are always affordable as well as snacks and drinks. Enjoy a beer or cocktail while you watch as well. If you've never been to the Alabama go now!

Our nephew plays in the Oh, Hello's out of Austin. They were on a large tour fronting for the Need to Breathe's. The show sold out on the 11th and added a new show on the 12th. The Oh, Hello's were awesome, but the theatre is old (awesome history) and small. They were good, but not exactly clear. The Need to Breathe concert was way too loud for the small space. Good music, but hard to take in small spaces. Not the best venue. Full bar on 3rd floor. Beer and wine on main floor. Cash only, ATM on lower floor.

A piece of history preseverd for future generations. I always look forward to visiting and viewing events here and will be a frequent patron.

I have visited this theatre a few times and each time is still a thrill. The Alabama is full of rich history and is a very beautiful building. I have had the thrill of taking my daughter here also, and hope to take her again time and time again.

Impressive auditorium and public areas; don't miss the organ recital if it's being offered prior to your show. If you sit on the sides of the balcony, though, choose your seat carefully - it isn't tiered, so you may end up looking at the head of the person in front of you.

Alabama theatre is a wonderful and beautiful venue with great shows and different goings on all year long. As a performer who has been backstage and onstage, the facilities are awesome and they keep true to the original design of the theatre all across the board. Great place and great stories are told here.
