But not sure how much it costs because ticket office was closed. Read on historical marker that this was the site where the original slaves disembarked when being brought to Alabama in the 1800s

Riverfront is a great place to go watch a sunset, fireworks from the biscuits stadium or to just take a stroll by the Alabama river! It's beautiful!

A relaxing place to enjoy the solitude of the riverfront; we went here during the day and it seemed very safe. I imagine during special events it would be very crowded. Kudos to the city for maintaining such an inviting riverfront area with so much to do and see nearby; the ballpark, bars, restaurants, Visitor's Center, Hank Williams Museum......very nice.

We found the walk very enjoyable, and we were there at a time when there were no special activities. That was a delightful ending to a long day.

Beautiful historic park with lots of nice views ans seating. A riverboat and train goes to the park. The train depot is being renovated. Kids will love the train.

The park is in downtown Montgomery within walking distance of several large hotels and "The Alley" entertainment district. You reach the park by way of a tunnel (inclined ramp) under the railroad tracks. There you will find a riverwalk, an amphitheater, and even a riverboat that you can take a ride on. There are a few historical markers to tell about the place from back just after the Civil War.I was there in December but I am sure that the scenery would be much better in the warmer months. No admission so you can just go and enjoy the view.

We traveled in November so there was not anything going on in the park. It is a beautiful area and I am sure would be wonderful in warmer weather when there are activities in the area.

pretty river views with lots of walking areas in park-like setting. In downtown area right along the Alabama River.

Peaceful, clean, pleasant, with plenty of signs to read about historic events that took place right at that very spot. I had my granddaughter imagine how she would have felt to have been a slave and walked their same paths. It helped her learn how wrong slavery is and how important it is to never let history repeat itself. The steamboat Harriot adds charm, yet gives a constant reminder of the many people who were carried to that spot to be sold as slaves......the charm and eerie reminder add a historic feeling of significance and the power citizens have to change the future for the better.

Don't leave Montgomery without visiting the Riverfront. Many people take pictures and videos for souvenir. There are also nice restaurants near the Riverfront (in the Alley). Ask people who work around there and they will show where the Alley is located.

It was a pleasant walk thru a tunnel and under the railroad tracks to get to the riverfront. There are signs to describe what the tall concrete walls are and explain a bit of the local history. A very pleasant park.

It was a quiet morning at the park when we stopped by. A nice amphitheater sits on the edge of the river and the baseball park is right behind the park. Great spot for a picnic. Look for the historical wall - great timeline of Montgomery history.

took a quick walk around. no events running. saw the riverboat, which I've ridden before. the view of the river is nice. this place is geared toward events, which improve the experience.

Walking around the park, especially the waterfront was so refreshing.... My son played around as we were stretching, having visited museums all morning....For those who love pic-nics, this is an ideal spot.
