It is a small but very nice campus. I enjoy walking around here and there are some nice things to see. Make sure to stop by the museum and see all it has to offer in the way of Alaska history.

We visited Fairbanks for 4 days to catch the Northern Lights. There's not much to do during the days for 4 full days. So on the last day, we just wanted to take it easy and find some indoor activities to do since it was cold outside. We were going to go to the bowling ally but they had a tournament and recommended us to try the UAF, and suprisingly, they have all sort of games for a very inexpensive rate. Granted that their machines/equipments are dated. One of the bowling lane stopped working 2/3 of the way thru but they gave us a discount. We then moved on to play ping pong, air hockey, billiards, and a couple of arcade games machine. I'd recommend this place if you're looking to spend an afternoon with friends with little money.

Enjoyed the view from the University. The museum is well worth going to see. The history and artifacts are great.

The UAF Museum of the North is not a large museum but it is interesting, and with informative movies. I would recommend it for an intimate look at the history of the area and the scientific research the yare conducting, and for the architecture - an interesting building designed to suggest glaciers. We liked it very much and could have stayed longerThe staff are great.

This university is around 15 minutes drive from the downtown. Many students attend school here to pursue various fields, especially in earth sciences. This is a good place to explore nature as it is situated away from the city, and they have many ski trails or dog trails of their own. A walk around the campus is extremely satisfying and they promote the native arts and culture too. In winters, when it gets -40F and below, students strip down to bare minimum and pose in front of the temperature sign board. Do visit this place if you want to learn more about Alaska and the native culture.

Was not sure what to be prepared for, but this was as minimum of a university campus as I could imagine. Basic, no ivy covered buildings. Looked more like a military installation.

This is a great place to see some more i depth culture of fairbanks. There is a lot of Musium stuff to see. Could see it in about an hour. Add another hour to see the art gallery upstairs. The downstairs gallery wasn't open when i went. It said call ahead. Still a good place to see what to see in fairbanks. Snaks and coffee shop available. Sovineer shop.

Campus is elevated, great views! Museum featured exhibits of each major native area, their histories and culture. Many natural history exhibits also, including a petrified "blue ox", pelagic birds, mammals, habitats, gemstones, etc. I especially loved the art galleries.

I'm not 100% sure what visitors to Fairbanks would do at the university if they were just touring Fairbanks. It doesn't hurt to drive through the area though. It's a beautiful campus and the gym is great with an outdoor and indoor climbing wall in the summer. The outdoor climbing wall becomes an ice climbing wall in the winter time, which is really neat and there is a sledding hill behind it. The campus offers tons of cross country ski trails and there is a beautiful botanical garden nearby as well as the large animal research facility.

Drive through the campus for amazing vistas. Park and walk to the totem poles! There is a cool movie room in the main building that shows free documentaries-check the school website! There is a great weather station that monitors the Aurora Borealis!

I was offered a teaching position at the university in 1977, but thought I would be too far from friends and family. The university physical plant is great condition so perhaps I missed out on a good opportunity. We also visited the museum on campus which was quite enjoyable

We had a bad weather day and decide to visit the museum at the University. We enjoyed the exhibits and movies that they showed that the day went by quickly. What a place to get to know Alaska people and their heritage.

This is the flagship campus in Alaska. It is beautifully located on a hill and is a lot of fun to explore. No journey to Fairbanks would be complete without stopping by the UAF campus. Be sure to get out of your car or camper and walk around the campus to experience it!
