Very solemn, respectful spot on the edge of the river. Some services were taking place on the morning of our visit so did not see all of the cemetery.

Such a beautiful place and very well kept. This was my first visit there. Under the circumstances, of course, I hope it is the last.

Worth the visit. Take the time to go and take your family. We had a homeschool history lesson. Hard to get into, but easy to find.

It is well kept and I am glad they treat our deceased vets like royalty here cause they gace all in some form or fashion.

Very nice National Cemetery. a little hard to find. Is off the historic downtown area and National Historic Site

Over the past fifteen years that I has visited Fort Smith when attending conferences I have enjoyed my walks through the National Cemetery. I always find it very serene and solemn. I am humbled when I think of the service these men and women have given to our country and I think of my father's military service during WWII. The precision in which the headstones and grave markers are laid out in the cemetery are a thing of beauty.

My father is buried at this Cemetery. It is laid out a little confusingly, but there is a computer with grave finder.....so it helps you find a specific stone.

We simply drove through the beautiful grounds. It was time well spent. We had learned on the trolley ride that the larger stones were for the higher ranked officers, but that has changed and now everyone receives the same stone.

The care of all grounds, certainly brings dignity and respect for our veterans. Don't miss the placement of flags on the special dates, good taste .

feel the spirits of those buried here as you pursue the names to the unknowns and pay respects to those that shaped our futures

nice to see this in honor of veterans. The city has a lot to see and do. has execellent places to eat.

If you have an interest in U.S. Military history, you could spend all day here. Confederate soldiers and Union soldiers side by side. Unknown soldiers, veterans from every U.S. Military conflict since the Civil War. A beautiful rolling setting that is immaculately landscaped. Just a peaceful, powerful place. It appears there is a newer section on one end that, while flatter and with fewer mature trees, is home to the graves of those who have passed more recently and, heartbreakingly, also the final resting place of some who perished in the Gulf and Afghan wars.

Well manicured grounds, very peaceful and a solemn place to visit. Wasn't even on our list of sights to see, but glad we did.

This is an amazing sight. This is the first National Cemetery I have ever been too, but it was amazing. We got out so we could look at a few of the headstones and the dates vary from the 1800’s to present. There are some historical figures buried in this cemetery but we made no attempts to look for them.A very special place.

Just wanted to see what it was like. Although not everyone there was a veteran, seeing all of those white tombstones (like Arlington) makes me wish anyone wanting to start a war would visit one of these places first.
