You can either walk, jog, or ride a bike on this tour. It is exactly what it is called.. A Big Dam Bridge. The view is wonderful at night. I walked it one night with my husband, and one night with my family.

Amazing bridge built for walkers and bikers. In beautiful weather it would be great to walk across to north side.

This bridge is great on so many levels. While some will not favor who paid for it, the costs are outweighed many fold by what it has added to those of us that live here and visitors

Great way to get exercise and see the river! Start on the North Little Rock side for quicker access. Not necessarily something worth going out of your way for but if you are in Little Rock and looking for a outdoor activity, this is fun.

I've been here many times. The bridge goes across the Arkansas River and has plenty neat thing to watch. There's a small hydro plant on one side, a lock for ships to go through on the other. Bring your bike and you can trek for miles along the river.

I guess if you had a bicycle or were going on a picnic in the park, this would be a fun place to spend some time. It's really as its name suggests: a big dam bridge.

While getting the advantage of a great physical workout either walking, jogging, biking, etc., this walk also provides picturesque views , a great outlet for family fun and bonding or a wonderful spot to walk your dog. This path also connects to other bridges and paths so you can make it a short trip over and back or add any number of paths to extend your workout and hang time with friends and family. It's one of my sisters favorite spots and we enjoy walking it together.

For a lovely spot to stop and pause, take in the scenery...walk or bike across the Big Dam Bridge. An easy feat both ways, for all ages and pet friendly!

The Big Dam Bridge is one of the best destinations in the metro area. The trail on the north side is scenic and shady. It's also less than a mile to Two Rivers Park if you take the trail on the south side upriver.

Number 1 it's free. That takes value off the table. Watch for fast bikes. The bridge was built for bikes. The incline is around 5 per cent. Incredible view. Don't plan on coming in Oct. Without checking the calendar for when the bike ride will take place. As many as 10,000. If u own a bike plan on doing the ride. It is the best.

There is parking both on the Little Rock and Morth Little Rock sides, and bathrooms on both ends. The NLR side also has a hut to fix your bike and get a drink of water. It is absolutely beautiful, and a great place to walk, run or bike. You can do all three over the bridge. The NLR side has a trail that takes you all the way to downtown NLR and LR. That's about a 10 mile distance.

I'm a bridge fanatic. I think it is a fantastic addition to our city. The view from the bridge is always awesome, and there are always tons of people walking and riding bikes. The county does a very good job of keeping it clean.One caveat - on a really pretty day, be careful riding your bike too fast. Dogs on flexi-leads and random toddlers will take you out in a second!You MUST go to the bridge if you visit Little Rock.

I use this bridge often as it is one of several bridges on the Arkansas River Trail system where I ride my bicycle. The trail system and their bridges (total of six planned, I believe) connects the towns of Little Rock and North Little Rock. The vast majority of the trail is paved (this whole section is concrete) so easily accessible from a variety of modes - bicycle, walking, jogging, stroller, wheelchair, etc. This particular bridge is on top of the dam as the name implies and is part of the Murray Lock & Dam. The height of this bridge offers not only a stunning view of the river and surrounding landscape but a very cool view of the dam itself and the system of locks that barges and boats need to use to traverse the dam. It is great place to take visitors and connects to excellent trails on both sides of the river. You can also see the hydropower station on the NLR side of the bridge. On the bridge, heading towards the Little Rock side, if you take the right ramp (towards the west) and follow the trail about 1.2 miles you pass under I-430 and end up on another awesome bike / ped bridge, Two Rivers Bridge, that connects to even more trails. There are rest benches, coin operated viewers and waste baskets at a wide spot near the mid point of the Big Dam Bridge (BDB). The railings are formidable and should be safe for all manner of pets and children (but please see tips below). There are picnic spots, restrooms and drinking fountains at several places along the entire path, most notably at the base of the bridges. Both of these bridges also have some spectacular lighting on them at night but to really get the full effect of the changing light themes they are best viewed from a vantage point off the bridge. There is parking at the base of each bridge and many other parking spots as well in areas where the paths pass through on their way to this bridge (e.g. Burns Park, Murray Park, Cooks Landing Park).A few details to note: The bridge is heavily traveled by bicyclists (including myself!), runners, etc. so to avoid collisions please be observant when crossing the path, taking photos, etc. and follow posted signs to stay right. Also please restrain / control pets and children to keep them safe. Doggie doo bags are available at the base of the bridge and wastebaskets are posted at the mid-point. If you bring your pet, please pick up after them. Drinking fountains are only seasonally supplied with water so, when in doubt, bring your own. Restrooms are open year round. Vehicle break-ins sometimes happen at parking lots so stash anything tempting that could provoke a theft (but also don't let that worry you - I've been coming here for many years and never had my car broken into). There are bike service stations (tools & air provided, fix your own ride) at the base of each bridge.Get on out there and have some fun on the BDB!

I have loved walking across the Big Damn Bridge alone, with my dog, with friends and with out of town guests. Great views, diverse groups, a moderate hike--all in all a favorite destination. Give it a try.

My 2nd time here, first time with my boyfriend years ago, this time with 5 boys. They loved it, ran all the way across and back. The views are as beautiful as i remember. It gets very windy up there, so bring a coat!
