Love it here! Take walks here a few times a week. Very quiet and beautiful. I've been kayaking here too. Nice places for picnics, naps, drawing, just peace in nature.

....on what you are looking for. The big draw here is the lake, which is small but nice. If you are looking for a park to get out on the lake (they have rentals in the Summer) then this is a nice spot. Otherwise, there's not much to it to attract a crowd.

We went to Boating in Boston at Hopkinton State Park on a beautiful Saturday in July. Boat rentals open at 10 am. We got there pretty early so it wasn't very crowded. We kayaked for an hour, then drove around to find a picnic location, of which there are many. We ended up eating right on the lake. The kayaking was wonderful. Although there were quite a few people there, it's a good sized lake with no motor crafts allowed. You can pull up on the shore in various places and swim/and or have a picnic if you bring supplies with you. There are also a few small islands you can stop at. There are plenty of kayaks, paddle boards, canoes and other boats to rent if that's what you're interested in. There is also a nice beach surrounded by a picnic area in the trees where there are charcoal grills. There is a second, smaller lake connected by a sluice that appears to be the result of runoff from the larger lake. It also has a beach and lots of picnic tables near by. The two are separated by a causeway that you can walk over. It's a nice place to spend a low key summer day or take a long walk with or without your dog. Admission is $5 and there are loads of parking areas spread around the park. It was just starting to get crowded when we left at 1 pm

Park has lots of parking...the season pass is a great deal at $35! Lots to do here...swimming, walking, fishing, hiking, kayaking. There are lots of people having picnics and BBQs at both areas of the park.

Took 2 kids on a Friday for the day. Arrived early--good parking spot and spot on the beach. Was not at all crowded at 10 am, that quickly changed as the day progressed however. There are lots of picnic tables, not very close to the shore though, shaded though. Kids & I parked it on the very sunny beach. The lifeguards arrived around 10:30-11, just around the time it began to get crowded. One downside to the fun was, on two occasions the lifeguards required everyone to get out of the water for "safety check"--bacteria levels perhaps? There were a few day camps present, lots of kids wading & swimming. The bathrooms were clean, a little bit of a walk from the beach area. For only $5 though it was a nice time, did not have any unpleasant encounters regarding foul language or inappropriateness. Definitely worth the fee, would try again!

The park offers excellent water sports in the summer to include fishing, swimming, boating (non-motorized), hiking etc., but it's much to crowded on weekends. The rest of the year it still offers great fishing, hiking and cross country skiing and it isn't overly utilized in the colder months. Overall, it's a great place most of the time. They charge a fee sporadically, but not in the winter and seniors can get a pass.

Love that they plow the roads and parking lots during the winter. When it's too dangerous to walk on the streets with enormous snow bankings, Hop State Park is nice alternative - quiet, nice views, paved roads. The only downside are the "little presents" left on the roads and paths by the dogs who are being walked by lazy owners.

Just the right place for a day out with family. ..hike, swim, run, barbecue at leisure. . Very nice place if the weather is right. ..

Nice hiking trails, and a pretty lake and beaches. You can rent kayaks, canoes, or sail boats there. Fun spot for a family day trip.

the park has lot to offer. there is a entry fee. there are hiking/biking trails, small beach area to play,kayak/canoe/standing paddle board rental avialable there. also the park is divided in 2 parts-upper lower,giving it two lakes+ a breakwater path to walk in between. there are picnic tables,grill,restrooms. no shower. the trails are on upper part. there are many trails for hiking.the healthy heart trail also there. take a map before you go. the trails interwine. we also did mountain biking in the trails. has lot of up and down,unpaved with many stones. but was fun. can get muddy and water on hide tide or after rains. even take your canoe to one of the island in lake and you can climb there and see the views or get in the shallow waters near the edge there. very refreshing. overall a beautiful place where you can relax sitiing near the rocks hearing the water crush on rocks/do fishing or enjoy the day doing some activities.

Hopkinton State Park is a beautiful place to go hang out. I think it is my most favorite place in Hopkinton. There is something for everyone. I have been camping there, I have rented sail boats, my son loves the beach, and my whole family goes hiking on the many trails,

This state park has it all: camping, boat rentals, boat launch, beach, miles of hiking trails, and fishing. It's open year round.

Living in Hopkinton for many years we have been lucky enough to have this beautiful place in our backyard. There are walking trails, bike paths two beaches and numerous picnic tables for picnics. We use the boat launch [for small boats, electric motors only] every week. I can also take my kayak there for easy put on or rent one from the Boating Boston in tne park. It's quiet, peaceful and always has a beautiful breeze. We will often go over in the evening just to sit. It can be very crowded on the weekends so plan to arrive early.
