My 3 kids and niece ventured out to Hull, Massachusetts on Tuesday. Glad we found this spot! The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's worth stepping in to. We had our lunch out on the picnic tables next to the building before venturing in to the museum. Inside we met Colin, who was quite knowledgeable and very good with the kids. Quirky is the right word to describe the place, but most definitely interesting it is too. History about lifesaving tools they used from way back in the day to learning about the best lifesaver himself, Joshua James. My kids enjoyed it all and also they have a kids room full of toys, arts and crafts and artifacts. There's one flight of stairs, but other than that easy to move around. Best of all...it's free!

Didn't seem to be anyone home when we visited, but the door was unlocked so we let ourselves in. We eventually met a nice lady upstairs near the children's room. Lots of interesting things to look at, beautiful artifacts. Seemed like a kind of museum that wants a resident cat slinking around the premises.

Loved seeing the history of early pre-coast guard days. Learning about Joshua James and life at that time. They also have some great programs for kids and adults. The annual Snow Row is a great take.

What a pleasant surprise! We were promptly greeted by "DJ," whom I imagine is a volunteer or intern at the museum. He was extremely knowledgeable, took his time in explaining each exhibit and encouraged us to explore the museum to our content. The facility was clean & the gift shop offered a nice assortment of mementos. Very commendable work, and a nice to see the preservation of the Nantasket!
