Paintings, Sculpture, Jewelery, Woodworking, Ceramics, Glass and so much more!! They are open to the public the 1st Saturday of Every Month. They do have a gallery open weekdays. Such amazing pieces of work. Prices vary by artist but there is something in this building (buildings as there 4) for everyone. This place is like a shopping mall for Art. I will be back again.
This old mill complex on the Pawtucket Canal is home to almost 300 artists of almost EVERY genre. First Saturday of each month is Open Studios for the public. Hundreds of artists are working, showing, and talking in their own studios.
Just walked around western avenue artists studios and all I can say is Wow. The place is huge with a massive variety of art on display and for sale. 5 floors it's a lot to try to squeeze into one day. I was told by some of the artists that the building opens fully to the public the first Saturday of every month.. I will most definitely be back to take in more.
I first went to Western Ave Studios with a group of friends for the holiday open studios. The place was jumping and it was fun to see the sheer variety of different styles of art as well as some really great artwork. I've only enjoyed it more as I continue to visit. It is 5 stories in three buildings including glass blowing, oil painting, photography, jewelry, caricatures, crafts, industrial art and more. It is the largest creative community in the Northeast and next to impossible to complete in one visit-Don't forget the lofts next door too. Almost every time I visit, I run into people who have driven more than an hour to check it out. The first Saturday open studios are definitely worth checking out. When you find something you like, it is cool to be able to talk to the artist about it and hear where the inspiration for a certain piece came from.
This historic textile mill on the edge of the Pawtucket Canal is amazing. It has over 150 working artist studios. All genre's are being done here. There is the Loading Dock Gallery representing four dozen of the 200+ artists. First Saturday of each month is Open Studios for over 100 studios.
