the outlet mall is a little bit out of the way although easy to get to on the subway. The highlight of the mall is Whichwich everyone should have at least one sandwich here.
If you're a shopping fanatic, you'll love this place. There are so many great outlets to explore. I love that there are great outlet options available and are easy to access via public transportation. There are also so many great dining options as well as a few sports bars so there is something for everyone. There is also a movie theater! Truly, a great spot to hang out with friends. I was there in December so it was a little chilly outside so in the summer time, I can imagine this place will get packed! It's a nice alternative than going to a local mall. Definitely give it a try as a hang out spot.
JP Licks, Legos, AMC theater with the reclining seats! What's not to like! The outlet stores are also fun, though I don't often find myself wanting to shop. I go there for the experience. How often are you greeted by a Lego giraffe?
After our visit to Legoland, we visited the outlets in Assemby Row. Although they are not all yet open, this is worth a visit. Heard that there is a push to have more open by Black Friday. When they are all open this will give Bostonians another alternative to Wrentham.
While Somerville has some great, local shops and independent eateries, it hasn't had much of a centralized shopping/eating area that is family friendly and easy to get around. Assembly Row is certainly more of a chain place, but it does have "locally-owned" chain restaurants (Legal Seafood, Papagayos). The outlets are nice (though not all open yet), and it is nice to have a movie theater in this part of Somerville again. The T stop is great, though for people coming from other parts of Somerville (Union Square, Davis) it isn't super public transport-accessible, and parking is sometimes a problem. That said, it is an easy spot to meet friends from further north and from Boston.
A lot of work and construction still to be done to fill vacant store fronts and finalize landscaping.Great location. Good variety of stores.I think this place will be great in 6months!
We had a great experience at the Outlets today. We went to Le Crueset, Pendleton ,Orvis and Clark's. All worthwhile. Other places opening soon as it is a new complex. Very exciting and now a short distance by Boston's new Orange Line stop Assembly which opened today only 10 minutes from Downtown Crossing ( Washington Street} much closer than Wrentham Outlet which is a car ride from Boston almost 1 hr4.
A new little town is being built with shops, restaurants, a cinema, waterfront park, etc... More shops are to be opened soon. Free parking. The cinema is amazing. A must.
