We heard about a walking path and we were pleasantly surprised. The path is well tended and give you serene views of the lake, Wellesley College and the H. H. Hunnewell Arboretum. We were able to park at Wellesley before the term started and spend a few hours on the trail.

Locals love it and that says a lot. A great walk, made wonderful by the lake view as wind around and take in the various perspectives along the way.

It is so pretty and serene. See swans, ducks and beautiful scenery. Every day the lake looks different. It is a beautiful walk.

The two mile walk around Lake Waban is the best exercise and view in the area. Good for your physical and mental health in every way.

I took a stroll today with friends around scenic Lake Waban and am happy to share this gem with Trip Advisor readers. The lake abuts Wellesley College and goes over land owned by the college and private property. It is important to know that it is permissible to walk on the path as long as you respect the private property and stay on the path.It is also important to wear good sturdy shoes or sneakers because there are plenty of roots poking out and today the path was a bit muddy in spots after a rainy week.Personally I feel more comfortable walking with others on this path as parts of it feel quite remote, but I do see plenty of singles that walk alone. Also you should know that people do walk their dogs around Lake Waban (just in case you or someone in your family is afraid of dogs.)The walk is about 3 miles and passes by some wonderful vistas. There are views of swans, other wildlife, topiary gardens and spectacular views of the lake and back to the college. There is also a little waterfall overlooking old Paint Shop Pond if you stay on the path in the direction of the playing fields instead of walking over the board walks. Don't forget your camera as there are many photo opportunities and just in case you need, there are restrooms in the Lulu Cho Student center. Or consider making a day of it and stopping by the Davis Museum (free!) and enjoying their varied and excellent collection. Or if you like gardens and plants, stop by the green houses up by the Science Center. The green houses are also free and open daily. I went once during a blizzard and it was so much fun to be in the warm tropical plant room with winter swirling all around outside.

Walking around Lake Waban never fails to relax me, surrounded by scenery and occasional wildlife (though dogs are more common than foxes or deer). The trail isn't the smoothest all the way, but the setting more than makes up for it.

One of the most tranquil spots on the Wellesley campus, Lake Waban offers limitless opportunities for recreation, sports, or simple contemplation. You can wander around the campus looking at the good structured buildings and in in heart of within campus there is a lake which is Lake Waban. Take a walk around this beautifull lake, around 2.5 miles i belive. Very weel maintained, You don't need tracker, trial is exactly around the lake, have a good walk and can take few good pics. Its big campus like a maze so dont get lost, clearly note where you parked as there are multiple places for parking available, Dover , east campus, west campus parking lots. There is no cost for this visit, no fee for parking too. People who stay in Framingham and near by , its a good place to go have a walk.
