Worth the drive to the end of the dirt road - very colourful and vibrant art - would look great anywhere!
Lola's Art Gallery is in a building that should be condemned. The floors are crooked, the stairs are falling apart, and it feels like the room is about to disintegrate beneath you. Having said that, Lola is friendly and pleasant and obviously has talent when it comes to her paintings. They are drawn using acrylic paints on canvases, using primary colours, and are fantastic. She teaches art classes for free and is very community-minded. There is no curb appeal whatsoever to her gallery - in fact, I'm sure some people get scared off and don't venture inside - it would be great if she could get some support to move into a proper facility where she could get more foot traffic and display her art in the manner which it deserves.
Lola creates some nice stuff but it is all the same clearly based on some formula she has derived that works. Prices are also double comparable art available at Art and Soul off the Sidewalk in town. (We bought a beautiful cubist piece there for ~$225 USD.)
Situated in rather poor neighborhood of Seine Bight the little house was filled with Lola's works as well as some of her students. She has her very unique style which is quite awesome!
What a charming and lovely place. It was difficult to decide on just one item to buy (on a budget). So many cute designs.
Unique art at good prices as far as art go. We weren't in the market, but there were some beautiful things and it was great to see in the area.
The gallery is on the edge of the dump, so not a great area to drive into. Very creative work and a large selection. American prices though!
Lola's art is beautiful and vibrant and captures the essence of Belize! Lola is the heart of Seine Bight Garifuna community and her art makes a perfect gift or momento!
She traces native kids to paint. Fine lady! Liked her art. Left stipend for children's art supplies. Lola does this gratis.
Beautiful collection of colorful, ethnic art. Purchased one for our travel room. Prices range from $20 for a rock, to $400 (US) for a large canvas. Love her art, nice lady. Surprised it was located in the middle of a trash dump.
Lola's is a great place to see wonderful Belizean folk art. Lola has many different sizes, textures, and price ranges, swing by when in Placencia.
love her art ! She has a lot of Folk art all sorts of things to see and you can watch her work on her Art ! Great Location just outside of the Village easy to get to by Bike or Golf Cart or you can walk. She has a nice family there to help her
Lola's paintings are incredible but I could not afford them. She is an amazing artist and I would love to have a piece of hers but since I had already purchased a piece in Key Caulker I could not afford another since I was traveling with children. You will simply love her stuff!
Lola has a nice little gallery here. I bought a small painted rock which I absolutely love. Definitely worth the short bike ride off of the main road.
Lola's art gallery is located down a dirt road in Seine Bight. The building is basically a series of plywood shacks, but who cares when there is so much fun, brightly colored paintings to view? Lola's paintings stand out and are unique and to be treasured.
