Only made it to Cross FIt once during our trip but Tony worked us hard!!!. Hope to visit again on a future trip.
Like a few other reviewers, I was in pain that was really limiting my activity. Tony accurately diagnosed the source and relieved the pain. (when I looked later, Webmd called it "an uncommon disorder.") If Tony recommends active release, take his advice: it works. The exercises he gave me have helped enormously. Tony has skill, physical therapy training and experience. You can trust him.
I planed to spend the month of February in Placencia and after one week I realized I was not maintaining a good workout regimen on my own. While paddle boarding one morning I met Tony and he encouraged me to try the morning cross fit class. It really motivated me and made my stay better than I had thought possible. He really is able to accommodate all levels and there is something for everyone to improve themselves. Thank you Tony!!!
When in Belize this past January I experienced such pain in my hip that I thought I was going to have to return to the states. I tried several ways to cure the pain with no luck. Finally a friend said I should make an appointment with Tony in Placencia. Well, I did and I can't say enough about that man. He discovered the cause of the pain and fixed it in short order. As Tony said "I have strong hands but a gentle heart" and with that combination I was back to getting sleep and enjoying myself in only a few days. Tony is a skilled Physical Therapist and one I would recommend to anyone. Eldon
If you are into crossfit then Tony is your man! My husband & I have had the opportunity to work out with him on two different trips. He gave us tips we use at home crossfitting and gave us a killer work out. Also there is nothing better than jumping in the sea after a nice workout!
"Better late than never" fits this description of my review of our two mornings at Tony's Belize Fit last April. Both mornings the workouts appeared to be well planned, yet not rigid or boring. Tony was involved and entertaining, and the workouts were innovative and just as rigorous as those I have been a part of while doing pre-season ski training here in Idaho. Both days the participants, many of them locals, were extremely friendly and inclusive, and everyone appeared to do the workouts to the best of their abilities, despite differing levels of fitness.As other revieiwers have noted, the beach setting is incomparable, and the workouts were early enough that the heat and humidity was not overwhelming, especially with a constant incoming breeze. Tony divided us up into groups with various themes for each group (battle rope, push-ups, pull-ups, stump jumps, kettle bells, etc) and we would try and attain a designated number of repetitions of each excercise at our own speed, with lots of encouragement from the group.On days in Placencia when Liz and I planned on just hanging out (no off-shore or rainforest trips) and enjoying the area, the morning workout at Belize Fit was the perfect start of the day. I highly recommend it!

Tony's Gym was a nice addition to my trip to Belize. The gym has everything I needed for a great lift. Tony was very hospitable. I'll visit this gym again if I make it back to Placencia and I recommend it to others.
I was in agony!! Had an MRI showing major back problems. Met with Tony of Tony's gym, Placencia, who took time to explain what was happening with my spine. Not only is Tony a great guy, he is a certified 'cross fit' trainer and a qualified physical therapist. The best person to work with when you are in pain and need relief and exercise to maintain a quality of life! Tony's personalised 'work-out' for me is working! I have no pain, I am stronger and best of all I am shedding my unwanted body fat! Venue on the beach and it's fun, believe me!
great way to start the day with a hour of beach bootcamp with friends at Tony's. Can't beat the beach location and the fun ambiance. Also try the stand-up paddleboard, it is a lot of fun, and good for core strength and balance.
Want to workout while in Belize. Tony's Gym is the place to go. It is not your "regular gym" but something much better....Tony makes it work for all fitness levels, with challenging workouts right on the beautiful sandy beach on the Caribbean Sea. Workout with a great group of people or If classes aren't your style he come right to your resort. Need physiotherapy? Then call Tony. We did and we leaving Belize better than we arrived.
We started our morning with an hour of paddle boarding. It was our first time and was great! Loved it! Then proceeded to an hour of cross training with Tony. Man! What a workout! Tony made it fun and was challenging!
Wow awesome workouts! I cant believe I can go to Belize and find someone who is a certified crossfit trainer! I also did the Paddle Boarding training he offers, I had never ridden a paddle board before and within a few minutes I was able to get around and enjoy the ocean!
My husband and had 2 great Crossfit style WOD with Tony. He was very friendly, knowledgable and fun. You cant beat his view! We will definitely drop in again when we come back to Belize!
Fantastic workout! Everything from Tony's focus on form & different muscles groups to the challenging & enjoyable atmosphere was fantastic! An added bonus was finishing a tough workout, feeling great about it, and running into the ocean...just steps away... to cool off! Each trip to Belize will most definitely include workouts at Belize Fit!
