ecotour barahona day tours

We were three travelers attending the day trip to Lago Enriquillo with Ecotour Barahona. They came to pick up us from our hotel in the morning and we drove to Lago Enriquillo having a few stops in the villages on the way. We went to look for crocodiles with a boat on the lake. There were unfortunately not that many that time but we managed to fine a few. And there were some big birds as well. After the boat tour there was a lunch served by the lake and we were admiring the iguanas close to the "lake house". There were plenty of them!! The next destination was a Taino cave (which was not that impressive) and after that we went to swimming to a big natural pool, which seemed to be very popular amongst the locals. After swimming it was time to drive back to Barahona through some sugar cane fields. All in all, the day was a lot of fun! It was just a shame that we didn't see more crocodiles.

We went to the Bahia de las Aguilas and the next day to Lago Enriquillo. The itineray and the sites are great. The tour was well organized, on time and professional. The guide we had to the beach couldn't speak English, and didn't know much about the area. The guide to Lago Enriquillo was suberb, We have been living in the Dominican Republic for several months and I learned alot from the guide. He was very sensitive to what we wanted. On the tour to the lago we were the only guests, and to the beach there were 4 of us. I think it was worth it to have a guide in this area.

EcoTour Barahona took me to Laguna Oviedo and Lago Enriquillo. I highly recommend tours to both of these beautiful sites. On both tours we were a small group of 4 guests and there was plenty of space in the comfortable minibus. David, the driver, did a great job of getting us around safely and was always on time for the pick up. The guides, Johan and Giovanni, were friendly and very knowledgeable about the area, its people, and nature. They were eager to share their knowledge with the group but also knew when it was time to stop at a balneario along the way and have a cold beer with the locals. This willingness to tailor the itinerary and the rhythm of the tour to the group's wishes impressed me and separates his operator from many others around the world. The food for the tour is prepared early in the morning from fresh ingredients by Fanny, a Paraíso local; it tastes delicious! All this individual treatment means that EcoTour Barahon cannot operate at discount prices. Nevertheless, the two days with them were worth every dollar!

We made a trip to Bahía de las Aguilas with Ecotour and we were very happy for that, we got a very good service. The guide was helpful, food was nice and the beach was paradisiacal.

I recently took the Lago Enriquillo tour with this agency. Although I felt the price for the tour was very expensive ($90 a person, includes the credit card processing fee, but kids are half price), the tour was good. They pick you up from your hotel in a comfy air conditioned van. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and helpful. Both his English and Spanish were excellent. I was disappointed that the tour did not include a visit to the Haitian border and market as advertised, due to safety conditions, and felt that the price should have been reduced or another site added. This tour made it easy to visit and learn about the lake, which would otherwise been much more challenging (but not impossible). The staff was extremely professional and helpful. If the rpices were lower I would certainly take another tour with them, but the cost is too high for a family.

Magnifique excursion avec Johan sur la lagune en petit groupe, nous étions 3. Envol de flamants roses, déjeuner avec les iguanes, déjeuner prepare par les locaux, vue sur la lagune d'un mirador. Visite de grottes avec des dessins Tainos. Baignade dans une cascade. Visite d'une école de pierres Larimar..

Ademas del balneario de San Rafael también existe el balneario de los patos. Ambos con particularidades irrepetibles en otros balnearios del mundo. Con playa de arenas blancas entre el alto sistema de montanas que lo cubre a su alrededor. Parte del camino que hay que recorrer para llegar a lugares que no ha sido explotados aun por quienes se hayan mas cerca y mucho menos por los que tenemos la oportunidad de vacacionar. Bahía de las Águilas; un lugar espectacular, con aguas cristalinas y cálidas, donde descansa un hábitat lleno de flora y fauna incomparables. VISITALA Y LLEGA TAMBIÉN A BAHÍA DE LAS ÁGUILAS. NO TE ARREPENTIRÁS!!

Des excursions très bien organisées par un groupe de personnes très professionnelles et surtout très sympathiques

visito varias veces este balneario y es algo expectacular tiene un rio de aguas cristalinas y frias y la playa aunque es fuerte es bella ,se recomienda el pescado que se frie alli ,bueno y grande en fin deven de llegar y pasar un dia alli debajo de un palmar

Nous avons organisé nos excursions dans la région en nous rendant directement au bureau d'Ecotour à Barahona. Nous y avons rencontré Johan qui s'est montré très sympathique et serviable. Comme il est français, il a pu nous conseiller et expliquer beaucoup de choses sur la région et le pays en général. Nous avons été enchantés par la visite de la mine de Larimar et l’excursion au lac Enriquillo où nous avons vu plusieurs crocodiles.
