We went to Dudu the first week of our visit to Cabrera. Didn’t quite know what to expect but were very pleasantly surprised. For the very modest entry fee you have access to the whole site. The lagoons are beautiful. We first went to the ones to the south with the canoes, very quiet there and beautiful to swim. Then over to the large one and took the plunge from the Zipline. Fun!!
This place is called Dudu Blue Lagoon A beautiful vacation escape. Great area for a picnic or a day to relax. They have a restaurant and 2 swimming holes. They had scuba diving, a park, and some animals to check out. By far the best thing on our trip! TIP: if you are under 200 pounds and want to do something awesome! You can zip line and jump into the lagoon! It was AWESOME! Just make sure you with your feet otherwise you are going to get pretty beat up from the fall because it was a good 50 ft drop into the water. It was only 150 pesos to get in 2.50 USD. We rented a taxi for the whole day outside of Puerto Plata for 120 USD and had 7 people in it! If you have a family or want some adventure go here and have fun! Also you will need to walk down to the pools and it is very slippery! be careful! Also bathrooms are disgusting so change clothes before you go!
You'll get to do a lot here at the lake: Zip line that let's you jump right into the lagoon. Smaller lagoon where you can swim, kayak in it's cold water. You can dive, there are caves. There are birds, from ducks to ostriches. The food is amazing, try the fried fish. The prices are very good.
Beautifull, a must visit on your trip to the DR ! Lots to do, swimming, zip line jump, visit the caves ...
This is an amazing spot you have to see. They made it really nice like a park. Good for diving and adventure. You can jump from the zip line into the water. Or dive from one lake to the other trough caves. There is also a restaurant.
Fantastic to enjoy nature, quietly observing and enjoying the view or active swimming in the clear lake waters or zip lining into the lake
Getting here from Cabarete is worth the trip bc of the beautiful views of the small towns, farms and beach. The place itself is beautiful, nice blue (very clean) ponds. One with a small swimming hole and the other with a zip line and cliff jump that has a lifeguard down below on a paddleboard. Its a lot of fun for people of all ages.
Love this place always come here on our vacation to zip line into the DuDu. So much fun beautiful blue clear waters.
This was a great hidden gem in the DR. The price is very cheap (under $5 American per person) and had a lot to see. You can go on the zip line that is a fun ride that you will do multiple times. It is pretty high off the ground and you have to meet a weight limit but you will enjoy the plunge. Swim in the open mouth of a cave as well as walk through one. We didn't eat at the restaurant there, but the food looked good. Staff was cool. This was a little hard to find but it is on the east side of Cabrera...pay attention to the road side pointing you in or ask the locals Donde esta Lago Dudu? Nice people.
Next time you are in the area of north of the DR you must go to this natural place. It has two lakes and one of them is in cave, the other one in the open also has zip line so you could jump into the big lake. Walking in cave is something that you must experience by yourself because there's not words to describe it.
Lake Dudu is an out of-the-way local tourist attraction. It was on the way to a beautiful beach my friend Tim at La Catalina resort in Cabrera took us to. This lake is essentially a big hole in the ground with very high cliffs around it. It is reportedly extremely deep. You can walk down some stairs to a wooden dock and actually jump in. Not a famous attraction except in that area.
My only regret is that it took me 9 months in the DR to find this place. Although I don't dive, I still enjoyed the cool clear water, wildlife, and caves.
Nice blue clear water. Bit cold, but after a "natural" shower (rain) it's easy to take a dip.Entrance fee is 100 DOP for adults. Zip line is 1USD.There's a restaurant, but was dead empty. We were alone on a monday. Later a small bus arrived. There are toilets and a shower at the restaurant.
This was similar to the cenotes in Mexico, the water is super cold which is nice when it is hot out or when the beaches are rough. There is a zipline that you can do that drops you into the lagoon at the end. It is kind of high. Like, really high. It was fun but terrifying. The water is really deep and clear, but it was still pretty scary!
Well worth a visit. The crystal clear fresh water "holes" are well worth the small entrance fee. If you dare, try the amazing zip line. You zip high above the water and drop about 40' into the "hole". Don't worry, it's plenty deep enough. I felt like I was falling for ages until my feet hit the water. Be careful though; face down could result in some pain!!Cool water swimming, bird farm and playground for the little ones, caves for exploring, and a pleasant restaurant (no coffee when we were there - pity).
