Our son and his beautiful bride had their wedding reception at this location and words cannot describe the venue, and more than that, the exceptional service and dinner buffet!!!!The view from the mountain top was indescribable!

A regular 18 hole golf course (par 72) and an The Executive 12 hole golf course (par 40). The Executive 12 hole course as well as the club's driving range are located nearby but record a different address of: 1630 Parkway. See website for additional information and the different services available at each golf course location.

I haven't golfed here before so I can't really comment on the course, what I DO offer instead...is insight into this venue as a Wedding Destination.Lets start out with the good. This is a gorgeous venue with pretty good food for the buffet - they have a good spread including a variety of seafood, salads and other typical clean westcoast fares. The clubhouse has vaulted ceilings throughout, is comprised of a beautiful wood and the surrounding grounds are very well maintained and its got great views into the valley when the fog lifts. These are all great things but the only things that prevent this place from getting a higher rating in my book is a) distance away from Vancouver and b) the service.Of course, not much can be done about location but it is a solid 40 - 45 min drive away from downtown, having a shuttle service would go a long way but this is an added expense. The second thing that really takes away from this place is service. It seems that weddings will often overlap because they have two rooms that they can host receptions in and as a result, it makes it hard to do setup and the attitude of the planners/service staff here are horrendous. They were rude, impatient and very curt when trying to get things done. They were seen physically preventing guests from entering the venue from setting up and telling people to be quiet and wait despite the fact that the venue had been paid for and setup was included. It was highly unprofessional and off-putting giving the supposed caliber of this place. If I were management, I would seriously consider reviewing the attitude and behaviour of my staff as I heard from multiple guests that night sharing this same point of view about the staff's impoliteness. Moreover, the bartenders themselves didn't seem to want to be there (perhaps their underpaid?) they were not friendly and set a very negative vibe to the whole wedding giving their lack of attention and desire to serve guests. They shut the bar down early at the end of the night and most did not even crack a smile. Not sure if this is what I would want to pay for.Lastly, the servers seemed completely untrained. They were sloppy with service, did not refill water or wine in an attentive manner nor did they offer any guests coffee or tea at the end of the meal. It was actually pretty appalling. They also continued to remove half empty drinks from tables despite protests from guests that they weren't even finished their drinks yet.Overall, this level of service is a 1 out of 10 despite the venue being an 8 or 9 out of 10 which lands it as a very average venue. If you are the type that wants to enjoy a gorgeous venue at the risk of terrible service, then this is the place for you!

If you are eager to leave the city but do not have time to go right now, visit this mountain restaurant just above Coquitlam. Access is easy and parking plentiful. This is often a sunny location even when it is cloudy below. The view and mountain air are lovely. You can sit on the patio and dine, or just come up for a round of golf. These clubs, (there are two; a 12 hole academy, and a full service restaurant and golf course are situated a few miles apart so be sure to check the website before you go. A reservation is advised due to special events, tournaments and weddings. Contact Jeni Wright for the latest golf and events specials.

I golf here a few times a year and I was pleasantly surprised at the upgrades on the course with the added cart access paths. The golf carts have built in GPS and the carts also have a built in cooler for your drinks. The staff is always friendly and the snack cart girls (Megan, Mel and Elyse) are always friendly and smiling. This is one of my favorite courses in Vancouver and always look forward to playing here.

This is still one of my favourite courses, however the maintenance of all aspects has clearly declined in the last few years. Front office staff and restaurant staff are great.Greens are in rough shape in places. Not what you expect from a course of this former stature.I hope the owners will make the investment needed to get this course back to its former glory.

I wanted to play a course I've never played before and thought it would be fun to bring along a couple of brother in-laws. The clubhouse was impressive and the course looked great from that vantage point. Loved the GPS with a flat screen. Built in cooler with bottled water and the club cleaner. The first hole was nice and thought the course would be in great shape. That changed by the time we had played a few holes. The fairways were dried out with bare spots, the greens were inconsistent with some much faster then others. The fifth hole was closed for construction and the replacement hole was on a former driving range area complete with netting poles al lover the place. Not what I expected from a place that charged over $100 a player.

I have been playing WWP for the past 10 years (at least 20X) and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the course - no two holes are alike and the mountain scenery and wildlife (deer among other creatures) are spectacular. Now that the course has grown in, the houses on some holes are less prominent than they were, which is much better. It used to be an amazing golf experience from the moment you pulled into the parking lot til the moment you left. I played the course in August 2012 and while all the scenic attributes are still there, it has really gone downhill since being purchased by new ownership. In short, it is being nickel and dimed to death. The compllimentary breakfast is a shadow of its former self and the course continues to degrade from lack of proper attention. The tee boxes and fairways are shabby and the greens patchy and spotty. The complimentary driving range is closed as they are using as a temporary hole while they re-do drainage on a few of the holes. While I accept this as a step in the right direction, the driving stalls off Hole #1 are really weak - I didn't even want to hit the chewed up balls for fear of damaging my clubs. In short, new ownership has a long way to go to return the course to its former lustre and with the local competition, I am thinking it is on a death spiral. This is incredibly unfortunate as it was once a jewel of the Lower Mainland golf community. I will likely go back at some point with fingers crossed that the deficiencies have been even partially corrected. Lastly - customer service at arrival and front desk was great, but what happened to the on-course marshalls that used to provide guidance???

This is my second time playing Westwood Plateau Golf Course and still loving it. This year due to a wet July, the course is not in good shape, but I still have no regrets in playing the course. The staff in the proshop is very helpful, she told us to sign up for the Community Privilege Club to get golfing specials. The club house is very nice and the sandwiches they sell are very good.

The course has gone through some changes , (5th hole under repair) but its back on the Radar. No two holes are remotely similar. Great experience. Go online to find specials. Hostess was extremely helpful, but dont get confused when you see her twin sister around the course ;)

The course must have very poor drainage as it had so much water on it (all day) it was like playing in a bog--just awful. If I ran the course I would not have let anyone out there as the golf was really unplayable. The course has some great holes and great views but searching for your ball for 5 minutes in the middle of the fairway because it is plugged 4 inches below the surface is ridiculous. My advice is check the conditions several days before to see how wet the course might be and if wet make alternative arrangements

stevek424

this course is in spectacular scenery just outside Vancouver. Expect a warm professional welcome, power carts with GPS,complimentary water and towels. New ownership do not seem to be maintaining to championship standards. Bunkers not raked, very wet, generally poor grooming. Not worth the $95 green fee
