Visited with a group of friends. Our host Honey was absolutely fantastic. So knowledgable and friendly. Highly recommended!
Wow, what a fantastic experience at Chateau Tanunda !! I visited the Chateau last weekend with my son and his beautiful bride to be and had the best wine tasting experience that you could ever ask for. Our host was Andrew and his depth of knowledge about the entire Tanunda range was incredible, it was more of a journey than just a tasting. Andrew lead us through a step by step explanation of how each variety came into being and what foods and moods it would best compliment. I can highly recommend Andrew and Chateau Tanunda to anyone looking to have a great wine experience, and if you like architecture and history then this stunning Chateau will tick all the boxes. I can't wait to go back with some of my Melbourne friends when they visit.
What to say more - amazing service, outstanding location and atmosphere, delightful food and fantastic wine!We had business dinner there and everybody loved it! I will go back for 100%
Lots of wines to taste, lots of history and Andrew was great! Entertaining and educational which always makes a visit so much better, Thanks!
We were really amazed by its history. Friendly staff told us a lot about wines. Everything here is really attracting. We only had two hours or so to visit the area and I feel that I pick up a wonderful place to visit among the wineries in the Barossa. Highly recommended if you don't know which one you should visit.
We had an organised trip here and we all loved the history of the location. The whole area of the Barossa is just about perfect.
We were staying at Lanzerac Country Estate just up the road and were recommended to visit Chateau Tanunda and do the tour if we had time. We're glad we did - We found the whole place absolutely beautiful with a really good sense of history surrounding you. Our tour was led by Andrew who was a fantastic host - very knowledgable/personable with a good sense of humour and just an all round good guy. We would certainly recommend the Terrior Tasting which shows the unique differences between the wines across the valley... Ask Andrew which one is has the sassy New York attitude... haha.
Anytime I am heading up to the Barossa, I make sure to visit Chateau Tanunda.I recently visited the winery in December 2014. I was once again delighted by the gorgeous setting, the beautiful wine (quite a long tasting menu) and the friendly staff. I personally love the sparkling shiraz 'Nightwatch' as well as there delicious range of cab savs and shiraz. The price point for the wine is also incredibly reasonable. If you are going to the Barossa, make sure you visit this cellar door.
My partner and I stopped in here while on a weekend retreat in the Barossa. The building and grounds are very beautiful. After tasting the wines we had a cheese platter out overlooking the croquet area. This was very delicious and a nice afternoon was spent here.
Whether you are a wine buff, a keen amateur or want to see the beautiful buildings and surroundings Chateau Tanunda is a must see.We are not wine buffs and have often felt 'looked down upon' at some wineries but not here, the gentleman that looked after us was wonderful and really took the time to help us find wines that we would like and made some great suggestions on how to best enjoy the one's we decided on.We were also given suggestions for other things to see and do around Tanunda while we were there. The ambience of the whole place is really something and makes this a very good choice to stop in slow down and enjoy the surroundings.Would definitely recommend you stop in for a visit.
We took the wine tour which was a little disappointing as we were not shown very in the way of how the wine was produced.
Beautiful buildings lovely cellar door fantastic history worthy of a couple of hours. Sparkling Shiraz with bacon and egg sandwich mmmmm
The man who served us was fantastic, we were the only ones there at the time but he told us the whole history of the place. It is a lovely setting, A must do if your in the area.
Beautiful grounds and cellar door. Friendly staff. My only complaint is the price of the croquet. At $25 a go we thought it a bit steep.
well not only is the location incredible and buildings wonderful but the tasting experience at the cellar door is one of the best - knowledgeable staff (not too pretentious regarding 'hints of this or that' great wines and reasonable prices - we take all our visitors here - great
