Upon walking into this hotel for lunch, I was blown away by how clean and modern looking it is. The staff are really friendly, laid back and smile all the time. Meals are presented so beautifully and artistically. Every bite was full of flavour and well cooked. Couldn't fault it at all besides my steak beiong a little overcooked for medium, it didn't bother me at all, I'll still eat steak no matter how much more done it is than what was asked for. The staff even come and ask how the meals are, that's something you don't ususally get in a pub like this so that was a nice surprise. They have daily drink specials, for example, Jack's and Coke or XXXX Schooner for $5, cheaper than anywhere else! They have Senior's special, 2 Course Meal for $17, bargain!! But everything is reasonably priced for what you get, definite value for money. My partner and I came back for lunch the following day it was that good and their lunch menu sounded so yummy I had to try something from it. Definitely will return, especially since now I only live 5 minutes up the road, I reckon this place will be a regular hot spot for my partner and I! Can't wait for more!!!

This pub has very friendly waitresses and has a laid back casual feel. We frequent the bistro on the spur of a moment when in this area of Tassie. Meals are typical pub grub with average prices and average choices. Seating booths are comfy, but you can hear the kitchen antics which often amuse. Also on many occasions we have heard the conversation 'next door' either side of us in other booths which spoil the atmosphere of relaxing and casual. SO if you want a casual setting with relaxation in mind and simple foods, then give it a go.

We booked a booth and the seating was comfortable. I ordered the veg lasagna and my wife the veg fettucine (about $20 each). Both were tasty, arrived in good time, and the service was friendly.The restaurant itself is clean and not too loud. This was the second time we've been here, over 12 months, and we'll return.

After having eaten here for the last five years tonight was terrible. Mains was slow and very ordinary. The menu choices have diminished to offer nothing exciting. Service was unfriendly and dessert topped it off by being in edible. It was the special, it was so dry and tough you couldn't get your spoon into it. It was sticky date pudding. On complaining it was treated poorly and no refund was offered. We left very unhappy and will not be back!

We went to Mackey's for dinner tonight at 5:30 waited half an hour for our pull apart bread which was ok.. then waited another 45 mins for our mains - medium well steak and a chicken schnitzel. The steak was that dry it looked like it had been reheated from the night before and the schnitzel was like something you'd buy from coles and cook yourself. I think they forgot about our meals because when we got them they were cold. We complained to the waitress so she went to speak with the chef and he offered to reheat our meals or cook fresh ones. We have kids that have school so couldn't be out too late, so we just asked for our money back, which they were happy to do. The only good thing about Mackey's tonight was the great staff. The lady that served me at the bar was lovely. Pity about the food.

This bistro is very popular with locals, as it was very well supported the three nights we ate there. The meals were a hearty size, very well presented and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful.Great place to dine in Latrobe
