Words that you have heard of on 'MasterChef', 'My Kitchen Rules', like selevating, party in my mouth, texture, cooked to perfection, eat with your eyes - this is what you will find here. Great food, with world class service and serenity - perfect way to spend your anniversary with good friends! So glad I went.... Will go again! Highly recommend this experience
Love the wines I have no dislikes about this winery very friendly and informative about there wines clean and outstanding
Final vineyard visit after have visited several in the area.In a lovely setting reminding me of a French or Spanish villa.Staff were very welcoming and made the tasting session a pleasure.
Nice wines without being stunning, or so it seemed to me and my loved one on the day. I tasted the range and found things a little underwhelming. It may have been the service which induced my sombre mood. It was as odd as any service I've encountered in any winery in the country. I'm not a wine nut but I've got a bit of the stuff and have been to every major wine region in the country with the exception of Margaret River. Same with the party I was with. We'd made a special trip to the Hunter Valley and we live in Melbourne. Chances are we'd know something about wine if we'd taken the trouble to make that trip. Anyway, here we were asked on a number of occasions by the lady attending us if we knew anything about the wines on offer. This was repeated and it was most annoying. Yes we said politely: we've had the odd semillon and vedelho before. We'd even heard of grape called shiraz and riesling (actually, we didn't say that). We were also asked here if we'd ever heard of James Halliday. Apparently Mr Halliday, whomever he might be, has rated some of these wines well. I think I've heard of this man and may actually have a couple of his books. It didn't matter. I don't expect to be treated as being particularly knowledgable about wine. But, I don't expect to be treated as a complete ignoramus either. I took the option available to consumers who weren't getting on with their servers. I wandered off without buying a thing and travelled down the road to nicer places.
This winery was fine- lovely on the outside, but rather pretentious. The guy working the tastings was really just a pourer- no info of any kind on the wines themselves (except for the BLARING signs in HUGE font about their accomplishments....of which I've already forgotten.) Of the cellar doors we visited in Broke, this was probably the one I liked the least. The wine was not to my liking, and the lunch, while lovely was quite average. Two of us had the special of pork cooked two ways, and the pork belly was really just all fat- inedible and left on the plate. Quite a shame overall, and a bit disappointing considering the opportunity that was missed.
Very chic cellar door with friendly staff waiting behind the counter. Semillon was fantastic and prices are reasonable with wines starting around $18.If you're in the area, its definitely worth the visit
Homage to the Hunter and the delightful sub- region of Broke Fordswich. These are special semillion singing of terrior in the mid- palate richness even when young .Add in brave integrated reds with helpful cellar door staff. Check out the stunning museum releases. The adjoining restaurant is superb
Had breakfast on the verandah overlooking the property. What a great place to eat a fantastic breakfast. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Walked around the vege garden and visited the chooks. What a great place to relax on a beautiful winter morning. I will be back for sure.
Went for lunch and a wine tasting the staff where very attentive and knew their stuff. Our daughter is have her wedding breakfast there in 2014 what a great venue.
Great wines from all price ranges, discount for club members, excellent restaurant. Beautiful building & grounds. Well worth the drive o Broke.
You feel really welcome, even when you come only for a tastingStaff is very nice and helpfulI will come back with my friends to experience the restaurant because we couldn't do it this time
Ate at the Margan restaurant on a Saturday afternoon after flying up from Melbourne for the weekend. The food was delicous and fresh. Most, if not all, of the produce was grown on site and this was evident in the freshness when eating the dishes. they were also tasty and not overcompensated by heavy sauces or garnishes. Everything we ordered was lovely, and the wait staff are friendly and attentive. when we went, there was a big group of "VIPs" dining outside, and we felt that our service and food was not compromised by this, which is always a good sign of consistency in a restaurant.
Also unbedingt dort hingehen. Leider hatte das Restaurant geschlossen, weil wir an einem Mittwoch dort waren.
