Starcourt Arcade has evolved from a stock standard country town boring arcade to it's present funky & charming incarnation, & provides an eclectic shopping experience. Amongst other things, you can find quality vintage clothing, (check out "The Black Angel"), get a hell hair cut etc at Pomstar, enjoy a quiet coffee, read the community noticeboard (always jam-packed) or if art house cinema is your thing, go upstairs to the cinema which is gorgeously stylish with a glamorous retro charm. Business come and go, and I miss the milk bar which used to make the absolute best, and cheapest milkshake around, but the arcade is always maintains a colourful and creative vibe. Well worth a visit.
This arcade will take you away from the typical suburban Lismore shopping and into a quirky interesting array of boutiques and vintage clothing options. There is a terrific alterations store, a cutting edge hair salon, Pomstar -- and much more. Take the time to browse and wander and you will think you are in Melbourne or Adelaide! There is also the Star Court Theatre where very interesting local and national acts perform. Their programme is also worth noting. This arcade is regional NSW at some of it's best.
If you have visited this arcade in previous years, it is always worth a revisit. This arcade is a constantly changing, colourful, interesting place of creativity and community. Little nooks of vintage and second hand treasures, in amongst cafes and spaces crammed with beautiful homewards, fashion and jewellery. Smack bang in the middle is the historic and iconic Star Court Theatre, featuring fabulous local and visiting shows and musicians, as well as an art house cinema.
Loved the little boutiques - every shop offers something unique and you are sure to find something even for the hardest to buy for.
Some cute boutiques, some shops are closed and seem to be closed a lot of the time. There are a variety of small boutiques and shops with clothing and gift items.
I bought a little blue bowl in the Japanese bowl and was treated to a cup of tea - very cute and very sweet
