Good lookout, but as I was visiting with my elderly parents I didn't have the chance to experience the walks. Hopefully next visit!
The view is inspiring, and it's totally 360 - visitors to the site may also like to know its cultural significance to the local Wiradjuri people. Originally there was a ceremonial site on top of this mountain, right about where the car park is...take a bush walk and soak up the fresh energy
As a kid in the 1950s our first TV was beamed in from the Towers up here - Channel 8!! I couldn't see all the way home but it was nice to be here.!
A decent 15 minute walk up,and you will puff at some stage, sometimes windy and cold up the top even in summer.Lovely views to Mt Cannobolas and nearly to Dubbo.
Nice place for a walk and see the sights a little bit of a walk but very nice place to see kangaroos and wombats in the bush
A nice little drive to get here with some stunning scenery/gardens along the way.It was wet and cloudy when we were here and unfortunately at the top, so not much of a view.Still a nice 30 minute walk, there and back and a nice little picnic ground across the road from the car park.
If you like lookouts with spectacular views, but don't want to walk kilometers to get there, then this lookout is for you. The walk is a little steep, however the steps are in good condition and there are no big drops until you get to the very top. You are better off parking in the lovely picnic area with toilets adjacent to the main road than in the Pinnacle carpark. The picnic area is only a short walk away from the beginning of the track to the Pinnacle Lookout. The Pinnacle is lower in altitude than the nearby Mt Canobolas, however it is more spectacular (and the picnic area below is much nicer too). A must if you are travelling through Canowindra or Orange.
It's a bit of a climb but really worth the effort. We managed to time our visit at sunset and were rewarded by the spectacular view of the sun setting over Mt Canobolas. Don't forget your camera!!There are no toilets. It's advertised as a 30 minute return walk from the car park but it's probably less than that, however it was fairly steep so I wouldn't recommend it if you are not reasonably fit.
An excellent view across the Orange countryside, revealed after climbing up the well-formed steps to the summit.
Easy access, a few stairs to get the blood pumping, rewarded with a gorgeous view of the Towac Valley or in snow, protected from the elements till you reach the rocky outcrop where you feel the full force of nature. Love this place year round.
The view from Pinnacle Lookout is a must see & dont forget your camera it does get cold up there so take a all weather jacket :)
In a word fantastic, we have some wonderful places for people to visit in our country, and Orange and surrounds top the list.
Wonderful view, great drive up and interesting signage at the top. Worth going up the Pinnacle rd, then back down the lake road (but don't bother stopping at the lake cafe)
Nice place and we had a good time. You can View the orange city. 75m climb to summit. Pinnacle reserve have wood BBQ.
Outstanding. 360 deg. Plenty of car parking. Dislike,,,,,,heights. Not a good place for you to venture.
