zante (zakynthos) beaches

Been there for 10 days in June 2014, it is absolutely beautiful island with something for everyone, whether you want to party hard (Laganas), enjoy in beautiful beaches with family (Vasilikos) or just sightseeing (Navajo, blue caves..)I would love to go back again

Typical I suppose of all the Greek Islands, but the beaches in Zakynthos are fantastic. Not as crowded as some elsewhere, beautiful clean sand and amazing warm clear water for bathing. Laganas beach was the biggest and best we visited, with a walk out to an island for variety.

We have visited Zakynthos extensively because my father in law was from there. There is no bad beach in Zakynthos!! With that being said there are some that are absolutely spectacular!! You must visit the ship wreck as well as Lagana, Vasiliko and Kalamaki. Do take the boat tour to the caves it's so much fun!! The horse drawn carriage rides are very romantic. Food is very good just about everywhere and very cheap. You must rent a car and that's true for anywhere in Greece except Athens, if you really want to explore the place and enjoy the country. There are spectacular beaches that are off the beaten path and are safe with awesome views. The Island and Greece itself is a very safe place unless you do something very very stupid and put your own self in danger. Just about everyone speaks English and people are very friendly and willing to help tourists. I highly recommend visiting as well as the surrounding islands.

Visited here as part of med cruise. Zante town is lovely locals are very friendly. We enjoyed exploring ourselves and took horse drawn carriage ride a bit expensive but worth it. Our daughter was overjoyed to find frozen yoghurt the best she has ever tasted according to her. There are plenty of places for eating and lovely shops some a bit expensive although that could have been due to the cruise ship being in as I know there are places that put the prices up when they arrive. We liked it so much we are going back on holiday later this year.

Beaches are great but only if you rent a car or go by your own as all of them are pretty far from all the most popular acommondation zones

Kalamaki beach is my favourite on the island of Zante. The beaches are so beautiful, turquoise clear water and clean sand! The best discovery for us was when we discovered a small island off Laganas beach! It was mental, had a DJ playing chillout Ibiza classics, a cocktail bar & a cafe on the island with a private beach on the other side! It's a little gem, highly recommended to visit there!

Beaches are large enough, I was in high season and hadn't have feeling that is to crowdy... there is a place for all of us to enjoy. Humidity is high, sand wasn't dry even a day. Wind was so strong that I couldn't believe that is summer... but in the other hand, I haven't see in my life so beautifull water, swimers are blessed here. I have jogged every morning on the beach. It is a come back place despite of all. I'm in love with Greece since my visit!

I love Zakynthos and " I'll be back" in 2015... I already tyake my ticket :)Is a magic place, I stay there just one week, but you need much more to enjoy all the island, the magic beaches, the special places, to rest and to party too...

the accomodation was basic but very clean and did the job, the hotel staff were friendly , food was spot on, we spent most of our time lazing on the beach but in the evenings travelled by horse and carriage to different resteraunts, cant say enough about alycanas beach village it was areal treat, we went to tunisia 5 star all inclusive which was ok but this was much nicer it just had a really good feel to the place we definately going again.

I strongly reccomend Daphne beach if you like grass, stones & olive trees on beach. Is recognised for its quietness and nice tavernas. Suplhur beach in Xygia which is small but is a unique phenomenon in word where sulphur springs are going into sea: you can feel it on your skin smootheness. Laganas beach for the ones who love to party. Gerakas & Banana beach for music, sea and party. This island has so many beautiful nature preserved beaches that is nice to explore it by car and each day to stop on one beach.

awesome place and the town center was lovely and full of life but not crazy..good restaurants and bars and friendly locals..great views

this is a good trip around the island on a pirate ship.2 or 3 stops for swimming and eating .turtle and dolphing, fun for all the family and resembly priced.

The best beach I have ever been to! So clear and the temperature was perfect! You must get there early though if you would like a sunbed! Overall, absolutely amazing!

The beach at Alykes is simply beautiful and very well looked after. I have no negative comments. Kev on the beach at the Buca bar is so helpful,nothing too much trouble.

easy acess. toilet facilties well looked after. lots of beach tavernas, with plenty of food and drink choices. various choices for children. Beach cleaned daily with loungers, umbrellas cared found. Pillows found if you needed extra for neck comfort. nothing too much trouble.
