This countryside estate just oozes charm and elegance. Dr. Luzzi not only takes pride in his home and his wines, but is so willing to share his home, his story, his wine and the fascinating history of the property that you can't help wishing you could stay longer. We are really looking forward to the arrival of the wines we purchased so we can share the entire visit again with friends. This was a visit to savor.

A beautiful estate with an exciting story, fabulous wines, and a charismatic Doctor, full of both charm and charisma! If you ever get the chance to visit this beautiful estate and taste some of his fabulous wines, you must do so. I cannot wait for my case of wine to arrive to share with family and friends!

We were lucky enough to tour this beautiful home and taste some great wine. I loved hearing the stories and can't wait for my wine to arrive so I can share it back home.

I have found that some tours can be rather than exhausting, long and boring - this was refreshing, surprisingly interesting and just the right amount of time. The owner tells his wonderful story surrounded by lovely furnishings, architecture and a magical history. I highly recommend!

We went to Villa La Ripa as part of a wine tasting tour while taking a cooking class vacation at Tuscookany in August of 2013. The owner (a practicing neurosurgeon) gave us a tour of the villa which is a historic building. The wine tasting was in a large elegant hall and very educational. His wines won various international awards. He only produces about 2000 bottles a year of each variety. We did buy a few bottles of his wine and had it shipped to the U.S. It was very good.

I had the pleasure of visiting Villa La Ripa during an excursion with my Tuscookany cooking class in mid-July. The owner of this historical masterpiece is a local Physician who took time out of his incredibly busy medical practice to give us a tour of his home and vineyard. The Villa has been located on the Chianti slopes of Arezzo for hundreds of years and the architecture and carefully restored artifacts will astound you. Olive groves and vineyards surround the Villa which is nestled in a small residential area. We sampled 4 incredible wines, including 3 red wines and a rose wine. The wines are created in very small volumes and the quality is incredible. Although I really enjoyed the wine tasting in the Villa dining room, the tour of the property and residence and the loving narration by the proud owner was well worth the trip! Interestingly enough, the Physician (Psychiatrist) named his prized red wine, "Psycho." It's by far the best Psycho I have ever experienced.........The owner's daughter is a local Pharmacist who also produces her own line of beauty creams that are hand-developed using wine, olive oil and local ingredients. In addition to the wine and olive oil produced on the property, her products are also available for purchase at the Villa. It was a very intimate and wonderful experience that I will treasure for many years!

I visited Villa la Ripa with my boyfriend thinking we were going to a wine tasting but we got so much more! Saverio gave a fantastic tour of the Villa la Ripa which has an incredible history (I don't want to spoil the tour so I won't give anything away). Saverio was extremely knowledgable and passionate about the house and the wine which always helps to make such tours more interesting. After our tour of the villa we tasted the wines made in the vineyard. They were delicious and of an extremely high quality. Sylvia gave us tasty cheeses and breads to have with the wine. The whole experience was brilliant and I would recommend anyone with an interest in wine and/or history and architecture to visit Villa la Ripa. After the tasting it is possible to buy wine to take with you or to have shipped to your home which is a great idea as obviously it can be difficult to take home if flying. Unfortunately we had run out of money at this stage of the holiday and were only able to buy one bottle of wine but we plan to order some for Christmas presents!

we enjoyed a tour and wine tasting here on our Excursion day from our cooking school, Casa Ombuto. Our handsome owner and guide, the ancient villa, the incredible wines, the spectacular vineyards, all contributed to a most amazing part of our journey in Italia! Still enjoying the wine here in Oregon. Grazie mille!

My wife and I attended the cooking school at Tuscookany. Which is extraordinary! A part of the cooking school was some very nice excursions. Villa La Ripa was one of the side trips. the passion Saverio Luzzi has for his villa and wine business is something special to witness. We bought two cases of wine to company our italian meals back in Indian Wells, Ca. The wine helps us recall a wonderful time in Tuscany. We feel the experience at Villa la Ripa was why people go back to Italy.

If you are lucky enough to get the opportunity to visit Villa La Ripa, do not miss it! Truly excellent wine - but first and foremost - quality and personal toutch throughout the whole place as well as the way we were received by the owner, Mr.Saverio. If you are into art and history of architecture, the house is worth the visit by itself. And Mr. Saverio is a great storyteller.
