Couldn't miss this during our visit to Stoke! A brilliant idea - extremely tasty oatcakes, eaten alongside the canal at a little table complete with candle ... well, it was Valentine's Day!!! Look forward to visiting again :-)
Never heard of the oatcake boat before but will definately be looking out for it again. The kids loved it and the owners were especially friendly and accommodating. Great oatcakes.
What can I say, Lady Kay in her Oatcake Boat serves delicious Staffs. Oatcakes made on her boat and straight out through the side hatch. They even put out a little table so you can sit and enjoy them on the footpath.I knew about the boat from Facebook, as I am in some canal groups, being on a boat, so I made up my mind next time we were in the Staffordshire Area, we would be on the lookout. We eventually found her at the Burslem junction, and she said she was coming up to where we were moored near Festival Park.We ended up buying her out of those lovely oatcakes! Really authentic.
What an amazing venture!!! The most adorable couple serving the best, fresh, homemade oatcakes ever. Can't quite believe we found this beautiful boat moored at Westport Lake one Sunday afternoon. Not to mention the cute seating area by the boat. We even had a bloke singing 'the oatcake song'. A memory we will hold forever. So if you fancy a fresh. homemade sausage, bacon cheesy oatcake with beans, tomartoes, mushrooms. Go give it a try. I promise you wont be disappointed.
whilst cycling along the trent Mersey canal my wife and I stopped at the oatcake barge which was moored near to the festival park. Nice coffee and lovely oatcakes made the ride even more memorable. Friendly couple seemed to be very understanding to visitors who up to then did not even know what a staffordshire oatcake was, they do now and am sure they will be back for more.
Whilst visiting family in the Stoke area we had tried a few places to pick up some authentic oatcakes and then we came across the Boatcake at Westport Lake...absolutely amazing oatcakes served up by a lovely friendly couple who made time for us even though they were closing up for the day. Your "good deed for the day" shall always be remembered and we will definitely be back when we are in the area and next time we hope to catch the saxophone guy playing too!
A friend told us about this oatcake boat so we had a trip to Stone this afternoon and sampled these oatcakes. All I can say is...mmmmm the best oatcake I have ever had! Freshly made and delicious. My 3 year old son is their newest fan! Lovely couple too, see you again soon.
Took the kids to see the boats at the canal and made this amazing discovery!! Fantastic oatcakes and lovely people. Definitely recommend
We found this oatcake oasis tied up at the Etruria museum. We had the nicest bacon and cheese oatcakes I have had for some time, thin crispy with a great filling and reasonably priced. We will seek it out in the future.
After hearing of this from a friend I had to take a look. Not disappointed at all. Top nosh and great people. Highly recommend if I worked on the festival park every Wednesday I would certainly be my lunchtime snack. Moored at the China Gardens and even delivers to work place. How can you beat that!! In my opinion one of the best oatcakes in Stoke on Trent. Thanks for having us this afternoon.. Scott, Glynn, Alan and boggy..
Having decided upon a Quick walk down the Trent and Mersey Canal we came upon the Oatcake Boat moored at Stone. Being a Brummie I wasn't familiar with Stokie delicacies so I tried a Cheese and Bacon Oatcake. Absoluteley delicious and highly recommended.

Called for lunch on a cold day. Great light fresh oatcakes, hot tea, tables to sit at alongside the canal. Well done.
Delicious oatcakes. Best I've ever had, could just eat one now. Would definitely return and recommend! Friendly service too. Nice little seating area provided.
