My husband and I went on a spin fishing day trip with Lees Ferry Anglers and it was fantastic! We had Kevin Campbell as our guide and he was extremely helpful, especially in the lead up to our trip - we were trying to book everything from Australia and he was so helpful via email about everything, not just our fishing trip! Highly recommended!

Let me start by saying if you're in the Grand Canyon area and regardless of your fishing experience.. This is a must do... Truly a remarkable way to connect to the canyon, it's scenery and the great fishing. My wife and I booked a day with Lees Ferry Anglers and she had never touched a fly rod before. With that, by noon she was casting and hitting into fish. By days end she landed two lovely rainbow trout and it’s safe to say.. "She’s hooked " Thanks to the great work and patience of our awesome guide. Our Guide "Nat" Natalie, was simply outstanding.. What a great, lovely, warm person.. Thanks Nat. The weather was great, the fishing was great, the team at Cliff Dwellers lodge are great.. And.. the food, outstanding.. We're already looking at booking a return.. If I can add a sixth star to my rating I would. :)

The guides at Lees Ferry Anglers are knowledgeable and it is well worth the money hiring them to take you out for the day onto the Colorado River. The fishing there is excellent and having a 'local' let you know the best fishing spots is priceless, especially when time is not on your side. They'll take you up river on a boat and will find the best locations for you to either wade in and try your luck or fish from the boat.

I recently took a fly fishing trip to Lees Ferry Arizona with four friends where we were outfitted and guided by Lees Ferry Anglers. In the past 20 years of fly fishing, this was one of my 3 most memorable and enjoyable trips! The guides were all exceptional. Each had a great understanding of the water condition variables created by Glen Canyon Dam and found us productive areas to fish each day. In addition, they were spot on with with their instruction on the proper rig and technique for fishing the water. Consequently, each of the five members of our group literally caught trout all day long, most ranging from 13 to 17 inches. Along with great fishing, the scenery in the canyon of the Colorado River from Lees Ferry to Glen Canyon Dam is positively incredible. The steep cliffs of Terracotta colored sandstone towering on each side of river is just amazing. One day we took a side trip up to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon after we came off of the water (approx. 90 min. each way) and if if you've never been to the North Rim - GO! It's one of classic vistas on the planet.During our trip, we stayed at Cliff Dwellers lodge where Less Ferry Anglers is based out of, and found the rooms to be very comfortable and clean and the meals were positively exceptional. The chef for their tiny restaurant is positively incredible. I had one of the best Cioppinos in my life on our first night and an incredible braised pork shank on another (be sure to try his dinner specials). Whether you're an experienced fly fisher or someone just getting started, I'd highly recommend a trip to this incredible tail water with Lees Ferry Anglers!

I have visited and fished at Lees Ferry Anglers on the Colorado River approximately 8 times over the past 20 years and it keeps getting better and better. This was the best! I was there with four friends and we each caught AND RELEASED approximately 60 rainbow trout each for three days. You do the math! We switched guides and partners each day and it made little difference ... we were into fish all day on midges, scuds and olive wooly buggers. Food was beyond reason for a joint out in the middle of nowhere. They advertise "great" spareribs and they speak the truth. Ribs, meatloaf, fried chicken - it was all over the top. Rooms are Motel 6ish, but a/c, showers and johns worked perfectly. Next time you want to do some serious fly-fishing with an eye toward bigger fish, you simply can't beat Lees Ferry.

Just got back from a fantastic fly fishing trip with Lees Ferry Anglers. Three great guides, too many fish to count, great scenic spot. Stayed at Cliff Dwellers Lodge - clean rooms, well appointed. Ate at the restaurant and the food was fantastic. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back again.

We spent a week fishing, hiking, sightseeing with Lee's Ferry Anglers. We had Dale Gaulthier as our fishing guide for 2 days. He was very competent, careful, and a knowledgeable conversationalist. Caught lots of fish, almost non-stop action. Dale would drop my wife Cindy off at a hiking spot in the canyon while we fished. The hiking in the area is wonderful, with hikes for all abilities. Everyone had a great time. Would recommend trip to anyone who loves outdoors and fishing.

Fly fishing can put you in some of the most beautiful environments available. The Canyon is magnificent and this is a good way to see it.

Our guide Dale was amazing. Super knowledgeable guy. he wasn't too pushy and allowed me to just fish. Gave me some pointers that helped me catch even more fish. We didn't even have to compete with other guides or anglers. We saw 7 other boats the whole day. Between my uncle and I, I bet we caught close to 60 fish. I highly recommend these guys and especially Dale.

Lees Ferry Anglers in Marble Canyon, Ariz. is the go-to fly shop on the Colorado River for good reason. While other "destination" shops tend to gouge customers who need some gear in a hurry, Les Ferry Anglers is more than competitive. They stock big name merchandise - Orvis, Simms, Abel, Redington - with what appears to be a complete inventory. But perhaps better than the hardware is the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff. They seem to know what you'll need before you know it. They book guide trips, rent do-it-yourself boats or will just point you toward the river if that's what you want.

Dale Gauthier was my guide for the day. He had me on fish all day and was very pleasant to be around. He's been fishing The Colorado for years and know his stuff. I'd definitely like to go again!

Ever try to teach your kids how to fly fish? I much better idea is to bring them up to the Ferry where you can have a guide like Skip Dixon teach them how and put them on the fish in a matter of minutes. Was extremely pleased with the whole experience, the fuide was incredibly patient, everybody caught fish and we all learned a thing or three to boot. Only regret is that the day went so fast!

Imagine fishing at the bottom of a sandstone canyon with thousand foot cliffs on both sides - that's the experience of fishing at Lees Ferry, a coldwater fishery created by the Glen Canyon Dam and jam packed with trout. Lees Ferry Anglers know where to go and what to fish (the water level changes throughout the day and they adjust for that). I highly recommend them for their professionalism and for the overall amazing experience.
