We rented 2 kayaks, (48.00 for both, total) and took the 4 mile trip on the Suwannee River. It was about 2 hours from the drop off to the boat ramp. It was a very nice trip, we were the only ones kayaking that trip.

We used this company to shuttle my buddy and I with our own kayaks upriver. Simple and efficient, we were able to put in quickly. They gave good and accurate assessment of the river conditions. We'll use them again.

Memorial Day weekend my sister and I wanted to try a short paddle on the Suwannee. After researching and phoning Canoe Outpost seemed the closest and they were very pleasant on the phone too. Parking is an interesting venture here but there is no charge so no complaint from me. The Outpost requires that you drive through the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park for a couple of miles before you reach the river and Outpost office. They offer canoe and kayak rentals or even a shuttle ride if you have your own. Lots of people milling about but we didn't mind waiting for our shuttle to be ready since we were on "vacation time" and enjoyed the chat while sitting in the shade. Eventually our driver took just the 2 of us up river..I think it was 4 miles.. and the shuttle in the van ride was half the fun as it winded through the Palmettos and wild Florida. He even sang our official Florida song "Old Folks at Home: with the requisite "sorry for the lyrics which are insulting but reflective of the time the song was written. " Accurate without shouting PC. The water was high enough for a gentle paddle and almost no effort was needed on our part to go forward. We stopped a couple of times for a swim. Beautiful outdoor activity and we will do it again but be warned there are no bathroom facilities. When we return we'll use Suwannee Canoe Outpost for sure!

Me and 3 friends went on a 4 day backpacking trip down the florida trail that runs along side the Suwannee river. On the second day my girlfriend injured her knee and was no longer able to walk the trail. We didn't know what we where going to do so I call canoe outpost and they where able to drop off a canoe about a mile up the trail. She was able to paddle the rive at the same pace as we where hiking. These guys save our trip and provided a safe way to the end for my girl. They where way more helpful than the other shop we called (other shop seemed to busy to answer any of my question). The price was also very reasonable. I will be sending these guys a thank you card for going out of there way to help us.

I have used the service of the Canoe Outpost three times, once a year. Each time I leave a very happy customer. Twice I have gone with a group of between 10-16 people and they handled the group very well. Not a hitch. On my last trip I went by myself. My mission was to canoe and camp for a few days, while taking in nature and a couple good books. Graham picked me up and drove me 13 miles upstream. He was incredibly friendly and passionate about the river, and has 25 years of experience on the Suwanee. He was able to give me all kinds of tips and impart much knowledge to me in a short period of time. He and his girlfriend wrote a book (a paddler's guide) to the Suwanee and it captivated me for a couple days. I can't WAIT to get back to the river. What an experience.
