plantation historical museum

Great holiday display of trees. Other times in the year, there are different themes. Curators are very friendly and full of information.

This is one of the best museum's with great Imax screen. i love it and love to visit again with my daughter and family.

While visiting family we stopped by the museum which was down the road from the house. The staff was friendly and there was a model train show going on. We all enjoyed the train show as well as the displays through out the museum. The rating would be higher if there was more to do, but with its limited space, the museum had enough displays with informative information.

The museum is not your typical one. It has a dinosaur along with its newest attraction with the feel and life of the Everglades which is interactive. They have the original fire truck of the city of Plantation as well as life of the early Seminole Indians. It has some hands on exhibits and it changes the exhibits several times during the year. The best part of spending a few hours touring it is that it is free. You can call ahead for guided tour groups and it is especially geared to children. At Christmas time they exhibit 40 plus trees. This summer they are showing electric trains.

always have good exhibits..which change every few months.. as well as some permanent displays.. docents very knowledgeable.. takes anywhere from half hour to hour to see everything..the Christmas display there is awesome and fun for both kids as well as adults..check it out!

My family and I went to the Plantation Museum prior to Christmas we loved it. I have a 20 yr old 16 year old and 13 year old. They had very nice small homemade gifts to purchase plus all different themed decorated trees. the night we went they had a presentation by the bell choir with cookies and refreshments. It was wonderful. Staff was pleasant and my kids asked that we see what was happening next year.
