We recently did a family photo shoot at the botanical garden and the pictures came out incredible. Having the beauty of the gardens in some of our pictures really made for some spectacular photos. I had been there a few times before, roaming the grounds and it really is a beautiful and tranquil place. We decided to do our photo shoot there based on the experiences and knowledge we had of the place. It's a nice place to go and have some quiet time or to draw artistic inspiration. There are historical buildings as well and some community programs throughout the year. The real beauty lies in the layout and the gardens themselves. It's an escape from the city drone, without leaving the city. It always feels good to reconnect with nature in some capacity, and the botanical garden gives you that in spades. A beautiful place to unwind.

Toledo Botanical Garden is a botanical garden located in the city of Toledo, Ohio owned by the Metroparks of the Toledo Area. Originally consisting of 20 acres (81,000 m2) donated by George P. Crosby to the City of Toledo, Toledo Botanical Garden now encompasses more than 50 acres (200,000 m2). Notable events include the Crosby Festival of the Arts, held in late June; and Heralding the Holidays, a seasonal celebration showcasing the numerous resident artistic guilds.

Nature at its best. Don't miss there Crosby gardens festival, the crafts and art for sale is beyond belief. Food venders are excellent!

We came here to visit the lithophane museum, which is right on the grounds, then stayed to enjoy the good weather. I have been to far more impressive botanical gardens visually, but those were also expensive. This was free and pretty in a simple way. The roses weren't much to look at this time of year, but the dahlias were impressive. The kids' favorite part was the pioneer garden. There was signage indicating that they are currently working on a children's garden. We'll definitely be back next year to see how it turns out.

This is just a nice tranquil park to walk and take in all the beautiful flowers and artwork. The art festival is a must to do.

I liked the way the gardens were layed-out, and labeled. It was a very easy walk with areas to sit when needed. I would have enjoyed more shopping opportunities. We went on a week-day and I believe the week-ends have more to offer.

I went to this garden with my wife and my 4 children (Ages 2, 5, 9, and 13) for a day of peaceful relaxation and observation and I am in awe at how rude and snobby the people there were. I had one little girl ask me for $100 and I had a male juvenile (Approximately 16 Years) ask me for smoking money. There was a foul smell at this garden that made my wife nauseous and my kids wanted to go home after 5 minutes. Definitely not a family trip and I will never go there again.

This was a last-minute decision to head to the garden before we could check into our hotel. I'm glad we did! The grounds are very large, with most being manicured lawn; very picturesque with the rolling hills. The gardens that are laid out and tended to are small but still beautiful. And there's enough of a diversity between the garden areas to warrant wandering throughout the whole park. If you're visiting on a weekend, DO NOT miss the Lithophane Museum. We had not idea what litophanes were (carvings in porcelain) until visiting this impressive collection but the volunteers guide you through the museum explaining the collection and the process. It's all so beautiful & this is the ONLY lithophane museum in the US.

Calling the Toledo Botanical Garden a "hidden gem" seems cliche, but in this case it's the perfect description. As mentioned in other reviews you might not even notice it's there unless you were looking for it. And you should look for it, because it's well worth visiting. And as nice as the gardens are, there is no admission fee! Our only regret was that we waited so long to visit. We have and will visit again.

In the midst of homes and retail establishments, tucked away, is Toledo Botanical Garden. It is an oasis that is just a couple minutes off the beaten, busy road. The beautiful gardens are complemented by a variety of different structures. The transition from one area, the rose garden, for example, to a quiet path, or herb garden, is seamless. You can get 'lost' in the gardens, in that you will lose track of time! The Fair Village is especially cute. Entrance is free! On some evenings, a fee is charged for live musical performances wafting through the air. It is a splendid venue for weddings! And the annual art fair draws artists and consumers from many other states! Always a splendid time!

This is a lovely spot in the middle of a highly developed residential area. There is no admission charge, but lots of parking, beautifully laid out gardens and a small but cleverly stocked gift shop. Too bad none of the soda machines worked, because the soda in the gift shop costs more.

Toledo Botanical Gardens is over 66 acres of beautiful gardens! From the herb garden to the rose garden, the quiet walking paths, the pond, the gazebo! It is peaceful and a lovely place to visit. It is fun to visit the small "houses" and watch the glass blower, visit the little shop and dont' miss the Lithopane museum!

The garden grounds are very beautiful and fun to explore. Most everything is extremely well maintained and it's generally easy to keep some space between yourself and other visitors.

Toledo Botanical Garden is a beautiful living exhibition with remarkable displays of flowers, plants, shrubs, sculptures, and trees. Some plants showed signs of weather distress but that's nature. The Garden is open year-round during daylight hours. Admission and parking are free! Take your comfortable shoes because there is a great deal to see. We enjoyed the Perennial Garden, Pioneer Garden and Cabin (not opened), the Rose Garden, Herb Garden, and the Vegetable Garden. It is such a tranquil setting--just watching the ducks is so relaxing. There are benches throughout the Garden. There are also several wedding sites. The lady at the Gift Shop/Visitor Center was very friendly. We got a map there to begin our visit. In the artists' village, we went into some studios and galleries. The 'artists' we encountered were not friendly. They urged us not to touch anything. We were not touching--just browsing. However, their behaviors did not dampen our spirits and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Garden.

if you have an hour or just want to get away but not leave the city...a really peaceful and lovely space. A small gift shop with incredibly low priced items from local artists.
